I don´t know what happens with my trial version of Photoscan Professional but since yesterday when I click in an image to create a mask or to put a marker the software is blocked, I can´t make zoom and the toolbar dissapear until y close the image.
An strange message appear in the console, I attach an image.
Please help!
-
Hello JUANCORDOBA,
Can you please specify, if there were any recent OS updates installed before the toolbar has disappeared?
Also specify, if it works in any of the following view modes: Model, Ortho, Photo.
-
Thanks for the reply Alexey, yes I updated windows 10 a few days ago, and it was a big update (spent hours).
It only works in model mode.
You mean the problem could be the new windows update? Could be because the graphic card disappear (Intel HD Graphics 4000) in preferences menu (and before I can see it there).
Wich should be the solution?
Thanks.
-
Hello JUANCORDOBA,
As for the GPU settings, I suggest to install up-to-date drivers for all the graphic card devices that you have in your system.
Meanwhile we'll try to reproduce the issue with disappearing toolbar on the latest Windows 10 update.
-
Intel doesn´t have any new update for mi video card.
I´m going to talk with them about that, I spect the problem could be solved.
Thanks for all.

Hi there,
I'm experiencing a problem (bug) with photos. Zooming in or out is not possible in the photos. No problems with the model part, but when I open a photo the wheel scroll doesn't work.
Also, I can't do 'live' action on the photos, even when I place a marker I have to close and re open the image to see it on the image. Same problem if I'm trying to move it.
I tried disabling the GPUs and switching from one to the other but nothing changes.
I'm experiencing this on Photoscan Pro since updating to 1.3.2 and now also on 1.3.3.
I have a win10 laptop with Nvidia 750M, Intel HD 4600, 16Gb ram and an i7-4700. I know it isn't the latest model ::) but it was working properly till the latest updates.
Thanks

Hello MatteoB,
Are there any issues with the toolbar display, when you switch to Photo or Ortho view modes?
-
Thanks for the quick reply Alexey.
Yes, when I switch to Photo view the main Toolbar disappears.
-
I'm having the same issues with Standard that are listed in this thread and the other posts in this forum.
As soon as I double-click a photo, I'm unable to interact with the image (masking tools), nor select additional images in the photo console. Clicking to close the image tab returns interactivity.
In another thread, I saw Nahmic blamed, so I tried killing the Namic32 and 64-bit processes and UI launcher, but no effect.
nvidia drivers have also been updated. Only recent change was updating to 1.3.2 and 1.3.3.
Windows 10 x64 Pro, Version 10.0.15063
EDIT:
Rolling back to nvidia driver 382.53 fixed the issue.

Thank you for your help.I also got it. :)
-
The issue could be somehow related to the drivers, although we are not yet able to reproduce it on Windows 10.
As a workaround that should also fix the issue we can suggest to run PhotoScan 1.3.3 in ANGLE compatibility mode using --opengl angle parameters from the command-line:
photoscan.exe --opengl angle
Another way to run it is to modify the shortcut properties:
-
Thank you!! That works for the toolbar but the Intel Video Card doesn´t works, thank god I have a GeForce integrated.
Thanks for your work.
-
same here on windows 10 64 bit in lenovo u41, with core i7, geforce 940m, ram 8 gb
with agisoft photoscan 1.3.3
but solved with changing the shortcut : photoscan.exe --opengl angle
meanwhile i am trying roll back to nvidia driver 382.53
-
Just for an additional data point. I'm seeing same issue on 1 of 2 different PCs running Win 10. Primary machine has the issue and is a MSI GS63VR with GeForce 1060 with latest drivers. MSI has Nahimic. The other is a new Dell Precision desktop and it is working correctly. Dell has Nvidia Quattro M2000 (no Nahimic).
Everything is fine in Model, but menu options disappear for Ortho and Photos. Note, I can use the mouse scroll wheel. You have to scroll wheel, then change to Model, then change back to Photo or Ortho and then you see the zoom change.
I'm running 1.3.4 Build 5067 on both machines.
I tried the opengl angle workaround and it is not working on MSI.
-
Hello TXPE,
Can you provide the Console pane output after running PhotoScan in ANGLE compatibility mode on the machine where the solution doesn't work for you?
-
This is the output after starting agisoft from the command line version of the command. This DOES work. I must not have edited the windows shortcut version correctly.

I did add the --opengl angle and was able to select on image but unable to do anything else except for menu items.
When I switched to full screen I was able to mask images.

Hello HerrLinder,
The log doesn't indicate that PhotoScan is running in the ANGLE compatibility mode.
Can you please specify, how you are doing that?
-
Hi.
I do have the same problem here. Photos appear blank. Running the software in ANGLE mode didn't solve anything. Could you help me ?
Thanks

Hello Bulbokan,
Can you please provide the Console pane output (just open the project, double-click on any photo and then copy the output)?
-
Here is what my console says when I open a project.
I also tried to roll back my drivers to a version that worked, but it didn't solve the problem either.

Somehow in fullscreen it seems to work more or less. But after going to full screen, I can't really switch back to the normal display. Here another screenshot:
-
Hello Bulbokan,
This is not output form the ANGLE mode run, can you please try in using this approach?
Also if you have Nhimic software running, please turn it of, as sometimes it affects PhotoScan work on Windows 10.
-
Sorry. You are right. And now it does work.
I also didn't edit properly the shortcut.
Thanks!

Hello,
I am experiencing the same difficulties mentioned above in Standard edition on a week old 32Gb, core i7, Windows 10 x64.
I added the --opengl angle command (see attached), however, the log doesn't indicate that PhotoScan is running in the ANGLE compatibility mode (see below), and the problem persists.

Hello davidpmcg,
Are you using that modified shortcut to run PhotoScan?
-
Hello Alexey,
Yes. I followed instructions from earlier in this thread.
-
Hello davidpmcg,
Can you please try to run PhotoScan in ANGLE compatibility mode from cmd.exe and provide the output of the command?
"C:/Program Files/Agisoft/PhotoScan/photoscan.exe" --opengl angle
-
Hello Alexey,
Thank you for your correspondence.
Sorry, I don't know how to open PhotoScan in ANGLE from cmd.exe.
If you mean copying "C:/Program Files/Agisoft/PhotoScan/photoscan.exe" --opengl angle to the target line, that is what I had already tried.
Apologies again. I am not terribly 'techy'.
-
Hello davidpmcg,
I meant to run cmd.exe from Start/Search menu and then use the mentioned line to run PhotoScan.
-
That got it:

Does running Agisoft in this format alter the software at all?
Thank you ever so much.
-
Hello davidpmcg,
Now the log shows that ANGLE mode is used. It just changes the method of interface visualization, but doesn't have any effect on processing performance.
Not sure, though, why it doesn't start properly via shortcut, on screenshot it looks correct.
-
The issue could be somehow related to the drivers, although we are not yet able to reproduce it on Windows 10.
As a workaround that should also fix the issue we can suggest to run PhotoScan 1.3.3 in ANGLE compatibility mode using --opengl angle parameters from the command-line:
photoscan.exe --opengl angle
Another way to run it is to modify the shortcut properties:
-
For those who are experiencing the issues with Photo/Ortho view tab navigation (no zooming, no context menu) and disappearing toolbars in these modes, I'd like to mention that it appears that NVIDIA driver 399.07 (August 27th, 2018) solves the problem.
The previous working driver that also allows proper work of Photo and Ortho tabs was 382.53.
-
The driver update did not really fix the problem. I have to switch from the model tab back to the image tab every time I want to view a photo. The photo does not update when zooming or panning. I have to switch to the model tab and then back to the image tab to see where I panned or zoomed to.
-
Hello BigFnBuildings,
Please provide the Console pane output related to such problem.
Anyway, the workaround via ANGLE mode should fix the problem for you.
-
Hello again Alexey,
Sorry to bother you with this. I am again having difficulty.
As back on June 12th, shortcut properties indicate I am running in ANGLE mode (see attached), however, when I open Agisoft, the console suggests I am not.

Cheers

Hello davidpmcg,
Just for case, do you click on this modified screenshot to run PhotoScan?
Also is there any reason, why you do not update the NVIDIA drivers for your Quadro card? It seems that the driver version 412.16 is available, while you still have version 385.12 installed: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/141696/en-us
Most likely the new drivers will fix the issue and you can work properly without ANGLE mode anyway.
