Texture De-Lighter / Re: Agisoft Deligther Documentation
« on: July 07, 2019, 02:41:01 PM »
This looks like a great tool Alexey. Although it can be hard to get desired results on human scan data in De-Lighter.

It's possible to use an inverted AO map in Photoshop to calculate the AO removal but with imprecise results, like on HDAO or hard-line shadows:

Would it be possible for De-Lighter to utilize an AO map as an input map to help automatically define Shadow and Lit regions? Black = Shadow/AO, White = Lit. Then Process?

I would be glad to provide some sample data if required.

Face and Body Scanning / Re: batch aligning chunks

Presuming you're using a fixed camera system and that your image names match each other in each chunk, you can use Workflow Align Chunk... and use Method: Camera Based. You can run that on batch by selecting all the chunks you want to align to your selected chunk.

Hope that helps.

General / Re: Zbrush - Workflow
« on: July 02, 2015, 10:49:44 PM »
It's a bug in ZBrush. Normally happens if you press Undo at a certain point.

In ZBrush/Tool:

Check your Export: Scale and X Y Z settings.

Check your Geometry/Size: XYZ and X Y Z settings.

Your original RAW .OBJ export from Photoscan when imported into ZB will have the correct scale and position numbers. Just copy and input them to your sculpt that changed.

Then email Pixologic to complain :)

Well I will guess no one has done it like this or that it really doesn't matter much since there are no comments on this?

Try it and see, that's the best way to learn. Experiment. There is no rule book  :)

working in a vertical position for a long time (few hours) ?

Over time yes it will damage the projector, it's bad for heat circulation, they just aren't designed for it. Most manufacturers would suggest against orienting them vertically.

it's a lot more reliable than a large USB network

Interesting. How do you know that? Do you have access to a large multi camera set-up to compare? If the USB infrastructure has been set-up correctly it can be near 100% reliable. It all comes down to experience.

(not to mention the mediocre software that is usually used for tethering -- at least, mediocre for this specific use case scenario)

I would hardly call the software mediocre. Both Breeze and Smart Shooter are incredibly powerful and extremely reliable.

You do not have to go down the expensive DSLR path...

You don't but it is recommended, unless you can integrate noise projection as well to compensate for the low resolution pi cameras.

That's very impressive solution for cost comparison. It's great to see someone innovating in this field.

Colin Urquhart at Dimensional Imaging was pioneering stereo pair reconstruction in the early 90's. I learnt the process through DI with their 2x stereo pair DSLR system back in 2009.

It's a concept that dates back into early last century. XYZ-RGB were also the first company to develop an 8x stereo pair system back in 2007. I built the first 60x DSLR volumetric photogrammetry (Agisoft) system in 2011 in LA.

What's disheartening is seeing other studios copy the exact same setup as IR's then start to try and patent it. You can't patent the concept and it's not cool to do it whilst copying another companies layout.

Feature Requests / Re: Marker point order broken.
« on: October 25, 2014, 08:26:38 PM »
Hello Lee,

It has been changed by the reason. New chunk and markers labels are generated accordint to their index in the project (so if some have been removed, the index will not drop back).

But probably we'll roll back to the older system, if the new one cause inconvenience.

Hello Alexey, OK thanks. Understood. It would be good to have an option perhaps, so users can choose? Maybe some need this new method?

Hello Alexey, is this a feature request? It seems like a bug to me, as it's changed from the old system to something else. Not sure why that happened?

Feature Requests / Marker point order broken.
« on: October 25, 2014, 04:08:49 PM »
Hi Agisoft,

Please can we have the old method of marker point order. Now if we delete markers to add again, the number sequence continues from the last deleted point. Where as before it would reset to 1. Please can we have an option to reset to 1 or revert back to this?

Thanks,
Lee
