The ability to hide camera groups from the model view would make it easier to select cameras by reducing the number of cameras visible in the view.

Feature Requests / simple text file with shift values for model import

It would be handy if a simple text with shift values could be used when importing models, instead of entering them into the dialog box. It would also be handy if Metashape wrote such a file when it exported a model.

Bug Reports / error message: Can't decompress depth

It would be handy to be able to  classify ground points by distance (proximity) to an imported mesh (surface).

It would be handy to be able to filter tie points by variance to easily select and delete the tie points with the largest errors.

General / ".prj" exported with Global Mapper shapefile doesn't work with Metashape

Projection file ".prj" exported with Global Mapper shapefile doesn't work with Metashape Professional.

I have attached a zip file with an exported shape file from Global Mapper and a shape file exported from Metashape Professional, so the ".prj" files can be compared.

It would be useful to be able to Build DEM and Build Mesh using dense cloud as the source with an option to choose a point confidence range, similar to the Point class filter incorporated into these routines.

General / strict volume mask and Metashape Pro 1.6.5

Was strict volume mask removed from Metashape Pro 1.6.5.

I'm modeling a wall with windows and the Muntins aren't being modeled.



I was going to test strict volume mask to see if it helped.

Feature Requests / independent routine for creating depth maps

Would be handy to generate depth maps independent of build dense point cloud or build mesh. Then at a later time could create either a mesh or point cloud from the previously created depth maps.

Feature Requests / create ortho from point/vertex colors

It would be useful to be able to create ortho photos using the point colors of a point cloud filtered by class or vertex colors of a shaded model. That would allow a better rending of a surface without features in between the surface and the camera appearing in the orhto.

Here is an example; the shaded model on the left was created from a point cloud with class=ground, the image on the right is a ortho image.

Feature Requests / safe shift information when exporting model with shift

It would be good if another file was written with the shift information when exporting models with a shift. Then when importing the edited model back into  Metashape, it would read the file with the shift information to place the model.

General / does color calibration ignore disabled cameras

I have different camera groups in a chunk that I would like to calibrate the color by group. Is it possible to disable all the groups except one and calibrate the colors for that group, then turn that group off and turn another group on, then calibrate the colors for that group?
