That's pretty impressive work with a single camera.

I like what you're doing with the trophies also (I perused the rest of your Facebook page). What printer do you use for those? The quality looks really good.

I am using the mirrorless Nikon 1 V1 with the stock lens.

I will post some more results today. Since I am taking the pictures indoors without a lighting setup my settings are not ideal (roughly iso=1200, f4.5, 1/60) and the fact the someone has to stay very still for 30 seconds is not ideal.

I would prefer to be at ISO 100, f11, 1/150 to have a better chance at having sharper pictures.

It is amazing what you can achieve with a single camera without ideal lighting and setup conditions. I can only imagine what I could produce with a proper multi Camera rig.

Beautiful results! One question though, how much post processing cleanup of the models did you have to do after the calculation in PS? I don't think you got the model to look that beautiful straight in PS after the processing right?
Thanks.

I take it into Zbrush.

I basically do the same thing every time. No sculpting, just zremesh, project, unwrap, project again, polish smooth through the subdivisions and a high pass texture deformation. Never once do I need to actually sculpt on the model to fix it.

I am hoping to record a YouTube video of my ZBrush process but first I need to do some more tests to see if I can improve upon my single camera approach.

I am really considering in investing in a 12 camera system for recording heads. I will attach it to a simple rail system to take 3 series of pictures (36 in total). This way I can capture a complete head in a minimal amount of time.

Took pictures of my kids today. In the process of calculating. I will post more results.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WzLsnxPiyE - its my version done also with single camera (Canon 550d). Have you resculpted it a bit and retopo before texture projecting? I did so. Very nice finall effect. Better than my one. Are pores extracted from texture (high pass filter??)?

Hi 3DSportsMedia & bartosh44, when you guys use a single camera, has it always been to shoot someone else? Has anyone tried shooting themselves? I've got no one else I can take so I've been trying to take multiple shots of myself with a tripod and I basically sit on a chair that can rotate. I haven't had much success with the outcome and see that you both have amazing results. Can you share how you capture with a single camera? Do you go handheld and shoot around your subject? Just for the head, do you take shots from above to take the top of the head, then several around the face, sides, and back of the head, and then maybe a little lower to take upwards at the neck/chin and go around the head?
