DenseMatching, Viewer Standalone, PointCloud Import
« on: July 08, 2016, 01:25:16 PM »
Hi Alexey, first off congrats on this beautiful piece of software. We are very satisfied customers. The ease of use and the time savings in manual interaction compared to other products in this sector are unique.
My wishlist is a more demanding one, however i am putting it out there:
- Dense Matching: We mainly use Agisoft for UAV projects (gravel pits, waste management - "organic surfaces"). For those applications the matcher is doing a great job. I would like to expand into projects for communes, mapping built-up areas, houses... For that purpose I would appreciate an SGM-based approach for better flat surface and edge representation (roofs). I would also like to process our "bigger" projects - Osprey imagery (nadir+oblique).
- Viewer Standalone: Having generated those textured meshes, i would like to deliver them to my customers for visualization and also to do rudimentary measurements (coordinates, distances, surface areas). So a standalone Viewer with this functionality would be an awesome addition and maybe source of income for Agisoft :)
- PointCloud Import: I know, i have read the forums concerning this. The pointcloud has additional attributes that are needed for processing in Photoscan. Yet it would be an awesome possibility to combine terrestrial laserscanning with photogrammetry projects. So far i generated the mesh externally and imported into Photoscan. Coming directly from the pointcloud though would save time and extend the possibilities.

Hello cschreiner,
can you tell me with which program you work to creat the 3d model from 3d_laserscanningdata and 3d-data from photogrammetry.
Thanks

SGM or any other method for better flat surfaces is a must, to be honest.
