I realize this is partly a user error, since you can always save, but I often find myself wanting to cancel one of the workflow steps and still find the previous solution. This might be down to memory consumption, but the regular behavior (in my opinion) should be to replace the old solution only if there is a new solution.
For example, as a relatively inexperienced user, I often play around with the settings of one of the workflow steps to check them out or prepare them for the next calculation and accidentally hit "OK" (Which could be renamed to e. g. "Start calculation") since there is no button to confirm the settings without starting a calculation and if I cancel that (potentially very lengthy) calculation, I've lost a potentially very lengthy calculation without being able to undo that.
