Focal length and pixel size for a DJI Mavic Drone
« on: August 28, 2017, 09:19:26 AM »
Does anybody know what the focal length and pixel size for a DJI Mavic Drone are? I need to punch those numbers into the Camera Calibration dialogue box since all my Mavic images have come into Photoscan with "NC" next to the image names. I just upgraded from a DJI Phantom 3 (whose focal length is 3.61 and x/y pixel sizes both .00170572 according to the Camera Calibration dialogue box). The Mavic camera is slightly different than the Phantom's.

Hi Brit,

PhotoScan should automatically detect these values. So far I did not have any issues with importing images from my DJI Mavic Pro. Anyway, here are the numbers you were looking for:

Pixel size (mm): 0.00161057 x 0.00161057
Focal length (mm): 4.73

Regards,

Thanks! It unusually does detect these values, but for some reason it hasn't on my new Mavic's images, so far .

I finally had one set of Mavic photos calibrate - at .00157777, with the focal length at 4.73. the pixel size is a bit different to the numbers above. Could my numbers be incorrect? Or are they close enough?
