Export Orthomosaic
« on: January 03, 2018, 12:20:13 PM »
Hello everyone,

Recently I created orthomosaics with Photoscan and wanted to open it with CloudCompare but unable to. Has any folk tried to do this and succeeded? (Sorry if it might be irrelevant post but im seeking for all the possible help)

Many thanks!

Br,
Nhung

Hi Nhung,

If you want to open your orthomosaic (geoTIFF), you better use QGIS not CloudCompare. CloudCompare is primarily designed to handle point clouds, not raster data such as orthomasaic.

However, you can export your dense point cloud in PhotoScan (e.g., as a LAS file) and then open it in CloudCompare.

SAV

Hi SAV,

Thank you for your answer! I have no problem with exporting point clouds and meshes and I was stuck with the orthomosaic so I thought there was something wrong with the way I export it. However, I guess I have got the answer i need now.

Have a nice day!

Nhung.
