Adding Simulation Local Frame Coordinates
« on: June 22, 2018, 05:28:43 PM »
Hello,

I am new by using photoscan. I am using the images taken from a simulator to generate a point cloud of my simulation environment. So far, I added the images to the project without any GPS reference as I do not have it. Photoscan is able to align the images but some of them are always misaligned. From the simulator, I can save the X,Y,Z  position of each image (in the simulator frame) in a text file.

I am wondering if there is a way to add this information into photoscan in such a way that the software knows in advance the position of the cameras before the alignment step.

Thanks

Hello jrodriguezg,

You can use just Local Coordinates (m) option for the coordinate system, if your simulation frame is just an orthogonal system.

However, keep in mind that Reference preslection is designed for nadir images mostly. In case you have very oblique angles, then it is necessary to load the camera orientation angles and set Ground Altitude value in the Reference pane settings. Otherwise just only Generic preselection.
