geolocating point cloud using only gcp from google maps
« on: October 17, 2018, 09:00:11 PM »
Hi, I'm trying to geolocate a point cloud created through aerial photographs with no gps data and no access to the original site and therefore attempting to do it using only gcp acquired from google maps.

i'm going through all the steps correctly but when exporting a geotiff to check the location positioning it seems that I'm a few countries off target.

what coordinate system do I need to use for points taken from google maps?
thanks!

Hello trananht1612,

Can you please check that you haven't mixed Latitude and Longitude values when georeferencing the model in PhotoScan?

For the coordinate system you can use WGS84 or WGS84+EGM96 height.
