Title: Phantom 4 RTK - camera parameters
Post by: ana.j on March 13, 2019, 06:54:17 PM
Hello all ;)

I am getting systematic error in Z with DJI Phantom 4 RTK, about 20-30 centimeters. My Check Points are in WGS84 as the images, so no possible error of coordinate system. The RTK source is different between flights, so I assume the reason to get good horizontal accuracy and shift in vertical is the camera parameters. I am using the default camera values given by Metashape, tried with Automatic and Predefined and they both give similar bad result. Anybody has any tips on the best processing workflow?

Thank you for any help!

Ana

Hi Ana,

I too have had the same problem. However, if I use ground control points and undertake camera optimisation with all cameras and GCPs 'ticked' Metashape is able to determine the true parameters of the camera (unfortunately the parameters in the XMP data within the image file is a guide at best). I then save this camera calibration data and then use it for all my projects (with a couple of check points just in case). Results come out very good indeed.

If this is unclear let me know and i'll try to be more descriptive.
