Title: Agisoft Deligther Documentation
Post by: JRM on June 11, 2019, 11:12:07 AM
Hi,

There is a new standalone application, Delighter, which seems to have a larger set of function than its Remove Lighting  Metashape's counterpart. When I click on the "help" menu I get nothing back, is there some documentation or tutorial planned ?

Hello Mak,

Seems that your crash is related to the certain texture size (not power of 2), can you confirm that?

Alexey,

Texture size on the model was a regular 16K  map (16194x16194).

Hello Mak,

OK, we are going to fix the issue with the texture atlas pages which dimensions are not power of 2 in the next update.

I think that 2 ^ 14 (16384) pix size of the texture atlas would work without any problems on your side.

Alexey,

This just made me realize that I actually made a mistake when generating this texture..should have been 16384 instead of 16194. My mistake.

Will try out the delighter once you post the blog post about it. As of right bow I can't seem to figure out how to make it work etc (getting missing mask error etc).

When is this blog post going to be online? I'd really like to read it, or alternatively some sort of documentation.

cheers

This looks like a great tool Alexey. Although it can be hard to get desired results on human scan data in De-Lighter.

It's possible to use an inverted AO map in Photoshop to calculate the AO removal but with imprecise results, like on HDAO or hard-line shadows:

Would it be possible for De-Lighter to utilize an AO map as an input map to help automatically define Shadow and Lit regions? Black = Shadow/AO, White = Lit. Then Process?

I would be glad to provide some sample data if required.

Does it support UDIMs?

I agree with Infinite (Lee?) about using the AO some how. From my tests on some large rock features with lots of deep cracks, it always seems to need help on the shadow side where the cracks are. If you come up with the large shadow masking and then combine that with AO, then you might be able to find those areas on the first pass. From the blog post you talk about this 'ambient occlusion overlapping with cast shadow'.

But for assets solved straight from Metashape and brought right into the app for delighting, this is very nice! I am thinking the additional maps are for advance usage. Thanks for this tool!
