Title: Dense cloud network bandwidth utilization
Post by: jetdog6 on September 17, 2019, 02:15:08 AM
At my office, we all access a central file server that houses our agisoft projects and the raw photos that it uses, along with all our autocad drawings.  The problem is that when I'm building a dense cloud on my computer, everyone's computer i the office running autocad slow down to almost a halt (when the dense cloud is grabbing more photos).  Though this is also an issue with autocad (why autocad needs to connect to the server when doing routine things other then saving is a mystery to me), it would also be nice to throttle agisoft.  Is there a way to throttle agisoft when it's creating the dense cloud so it's not using 100% of the network card on our server?  Thanks for the help.

I have used 'Process Lasso Pro' https://bitsum.com/?inproduct to control resource usage of processes. I see there is an option to control 'I/O priority' so perhaps setting that to 'Very Low' would work.

I haven't tried Process Lasso Pro, but I have tried Netlimiter and TMeter.  Neither of those programs are able to identify the traffic from agisoft for some reason.  They both state that Agisoft is using 0bytes/s all the time, even when my windows task manager shows 100% utilization of the network card while Agisoft is fetching photos.
