Title: Scaling my model
Post by: jsallis on March 23, 2020, 09:02:24 PM
Hi Apologies if this has been covered before but I am both new to Metatshape and the Agisoft forum. OK, I would like to scale a model that I have processed to the point of a dense cloud. My question is at what point is it best to scale the model? Do I now proceed to build mesh before scaling or even wait until I have built some texture. Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Jim

Hello Jim,

You can perform scaling at any step after completing the alignment operation.

If you have reasonable number of control points or scale bars it is suggested to optimize the alignment after referencing (note that optimization discards available dense cloud and mesh).  But you can skip optimization and perform the referencing/scaling already after building the dense cloud or after building the textured mesh - it doesn't actually matter.

Thank you so much Alex for such a quick response. By the way, I am absolutely loving Metatshape! It is so intuitive and easy to navigate. You guys have done a fantastic job!!!! Cheers, Jim
