Title: Best Method for Data Collection, Powerline Detection
Post by: Drone Ray on February 23, 2021, 08:18:43 PM
Hi. I wonder if any of you at Agisoft or other users here have done some experimenting with what is the best method to collect images if you would like to use the new powerline detection tool? Is it enough to do a single nadir flight over the powerlines or do you need one or multiple oblique flights to make the software be able to recognise the power lines?

What are you experiences and results?

Thank you in advance!

Hey!

The best method to collect images is multiple oblique linear flights (see attached image). 2 flights are required minimum, 4 flights are recommended as less noise and unreconstructed spans will occur.
