For anyone doing face scanning, grab an iPhone and take some Portrait mode pictures in JPEG (not HEIC) with the front camera. Import them into Metashape 1.8 as Laser Scans and you'll have an absolutely perfect face model with very little effort.
Here's a short video clip of a quick test I did, using myself as the subject. I even captured the photos myself!

Hello, how is this possible? I know that above the display is dot projector and this measure the distance. But, what is saved in the jpeg file? How looks the structure of the file? I asssume that in the file is stored also distance of every pixel or something similar. But how is it stored? I think jpeg can have only 3 channels.

Hello michael,
the following can give you more info on depth maps camera import in Metashape https://agisoft.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/31000162212-smart-cameras-with-depth-sensor-data-processing
However it would be great a have more extensive tutorial on how such data (rgb image + depth) can be processed in Metashape...

here a test with about 200 images, not in raw, I used a 3x as an optic, but I noticed that it made me two sets of images with different optics, I don't know why:
