Hi Agisoft,
I was wondering why the results from Photoscan are better with the older versions.
I have calculated exactly the same scenes with the 0.9.1 (1714) and with the 1.0 version(s).
The results with the old version is much smoother, the new versions give very rough surfaces.
Does anyone else experience the same?
Thanks!
Fernando

Post samples please :)

Hi Eduardo,
That is a fair request, see the attached comparison.
I've set the newest version from this week to the maximum values (except I kept dense cloud to 'high').
Even with more points matched in the 'align photos' phase, the results are worse.
If I hadn't used 'extrapolated' there would be a gap on the side of the nose.
I would expect to get the same results or better.
@Agisoft: have your base algorithms changed that much?
Thanks,
Fernando

Hello Fernando,
Could you please post screenshots of both point cloud model? And please also check, if possible, mesh reconstruction in build 1812 based on camera alignment results from 0.9.1.

I've been experiencing the same problems. In older version of Agisoft it feelt much more forgiving compared to the latest one. Cant say if it's me doing something wrong when capturing stuff or if I'm using wierd settings in Agisoft, maybe both :) but my older scans wore not this noisy as they are now.

Same here... Is there any way to reinstall the older version as I need a good result asap? I will try and post a result of a new pointcloud but don't know how to show an old one as the 0.9. version is overwritten

The screenshot shows a dam I was standing on... the camera alignment is very wrong due to unknown reasons. I am used to Photoscan and experienced with taking images. Is there any reason for this radial alignment and the rays that expand from the clustered cameras? Furthermore there was no such thing like a long straight line in the scenery which also appears in the sparse PC...
