Title: Export Map of Image Overlap
Post by: jamesb on March 04, 2015, 01:24:57 AM
Hello All,

The photoscan processing report produces a very nice, colour shaded map of the pattern of image overlap (see attached).  This appears to show the number of images that, when projected on to the mesh, overlap a given point in space.

I would really like to be able to export this - either as an extra attribute on each xyz point, or alternatively, the raw projected image footprints.  I know I could work this out by projecting the exterior orientation data, but thought I'd see if anyone has beaten me to this, or knows of way this can be exported directly from PS?

Best wishes,
James

I haven't tried it myself, but I believe this forum topic has a script which will export image footprints:

There are a few things that people implement with scripts which I think should just be a standard feature of the photoscan gui. This is one of them.

Thanks for this Steven.  I'll give that script a go - looks like it should do the job.

Best,
James
