Hello,
In photoscan version 1.2.0 I've noticed that if i delete DC points in the project then the file size of the OC3 file remains the same (data does not get actually deleted).
Kind Regards

Hello wojtek,
Can it be observed after saving the project?

Yes, that is the case.

Hello wojtek,
If you are speaking about PSX file, than at the moment PhotoScan flags points as "removed", but keeps them in the project data. Instant point removal in case of unpacked project will affect the availability of Undo option, as the cloud is not loaded to the memory at once.
Resaving the project in PSZ format should work, though.

Hello,
PSX format is faster than PSZ so it would be nice to have an option to delete point files permanently in that format, too.
As you can see the clouds can get pretty big so it would be a nice option to have.

Hello wojtek,
Currently dense cloud points are marked as removed, but are stored in the project. I think that we will implement something like "pack dense cloud" option that will update the points' statuses and remove the deleted points forever.

Hello wojtek,
In the version 1.2.4 there's Compact Dense Cloud option that removes all the points from the cloud that were marked as deleted.

Hi,
Im using the standard edition, and was just trying to "Compact Dense Cloud" to remove deleted points. But Im not seeing any change in the number of points in the chunk info.
Im trying to reduce the points so I can export a smaller size .ply file.
Thanks for any ideas!
