Tested both methods: from menu and from python API. This worked in PhotoScan 1.2.1 and 1.2.2 and stopped working in PhotoScan 1.2.3.
PhotoScan.app.document.chunk.buildModel(surface=PhotoScan.HeightField,face_count=PhotoScan.MediumFaceCount,source=PhotoScan.DenseCloudData)
Overall progress stops at like 90% and it says "Calculating vertex colors..."
-
I just did some meshing with 1.2.3. and it worked fine for me.
Arbitrary
Dense Cloud
Face count 0 (max.)
Interpolation Enabled (Default)
Build 2331 64-bit on Windows 7 Pro x64
-
Could you try using the script I posted? That way you will get the same settings I did.
PS. OS used by me was: Ubuntu 14.04.
-
I recently upgraded to PhotoScan Pro 1.2.3 for Linux and now when I build the mesh using
Workflow => Build Mesh
Surface type = Height field
Source data = Sparce cloud
Face count = Medium
Advanced:
Interpolation = Enabled
Point classes = All
The processing window has a line for "Calculating vertex colors" that stays at 0% done and I am unable to stop the operation or exit out of PhotoScan. This does not seem to be a problem on Windows computers with this same version and I did not have this problem with the previous version of PhotoScan. I have tried two different data sets and two different computers (one with OpenCL and the other without) and I get the same problem. I am using Ubuntu 14.04 on both computers.

Hello nedhorning,
Thanks for the reporting. We'll check that on Linux and if it can be reproduced on our side, fix it in the next update.
-
I have had the exact problem as nedhorning. Using both sparse and dense point clouds. Version 1.2.1 completes the task fine. Slackware64-14.1 and 14.2 beta. I have not tried it in Windows. I have attempted at least five data sets, all with the same 0% on calculating vertex colors.

Hello Clay Folk,
The issue has been related to Linux version only and will be fixed in the next update,
-
I am having the same problem with the newest version for Linux. Is there a way to get the previous version? I need to finish a job. Thanks.

The link to the tar archive is:
http://download.agisoft.com/photoscan-pro_1_2_3_amd64.tar.gz
just replace the version number with your last stable release.
Since I have also Problems with 1.2.0, which is the last stable release?
@ Alexey: How do I have to understand your comment? Do all Linux Users have to wait no for month? Is that your new politics? Should we move to windooooze?

Hello AnsgarGreiwe,
We are planning to release the update with the fixed bug in about a week.
-
I'm encountering the same problems with Build Mesh freezing at ca. 90% on the 'Calculating vertex colours...' step.
Configuration: PS v 1.2.3_2331; Build Mesh settings: height field, face count=low(10,000), source=sparse cloud. I've had the same error three times, including leaving the system for 20 hours with no progress (this should not be memory limitations, as this is a small job on a very high spec system that has previously handled much larger jobs). There is also no response when I attempt to terminate the process (the time elapsed counter simple continues for several more hours).
-
Nice to see that the bug has already been reported by others.
Alexey Pasumansky, you said the 23rd of Feb. that the bug will be fixed and an update released in about a week. Has it been done?
-
Hello liner,
The release is almost ready. We'll try to publish it this week.
