Title: Multicolor 3D prints
Post by: Joo on July 09, 2016, 09:34:19 PM
I have a question for those who ordered many prints. How much better do monocolor adujsted textures prints than rather photorealistic? I have seen many great photorealistic models that printed very poorly.

I am working currently on the model that I would like to print. Could you advise me with it. First version is the better looking texture but I sense it would not print well, on the second I am qualizing the colors to the maximum. It does not look good in a digital view but do you think it will give the better results while I 3D print it? If so, is there really need to go this far with equalizing colors to get a perfect print?

Version 2.2 will print best if it's to be printed quite small, but you also need to test and recalibrate your colors because different printers produce very different results in my experience. Also the color quality depends very much on post-print handling: colorbond, drying, other treatments etc..
