You should implement Cloth Simulation method for point classification. This is especially good for classification ground and non-ground points like in high density city to create DTM.
Scientific paper: "An Easy-to-Use Airborne LiDAR Data Filtering Method Based on Cloth Simulation" Zhang W, Qi J, Wan P, Wang H, Xie D, Wang X, Yan G.: http://www.mdpi.com/2072-4292/8/6/501

+1, I've been using it on raw point cloud exports with great success, this point classification method is a gem.
-
Would there be a way to incorporate this as a python script? This sounds like something I would be very interested in

Hello CamMakoJ,
Wuming Zhang, the leader of the team that developped CSF, posted the Python script on Github. (https://github.com/jianboqi/CSF/tree/master/python)
Make sure to follow his amazing project on ResearchGate! (https://www.researchgate.net/project/CSF-Ground-filtering-of-point-cloud-based-on-Cloth-Simulation)

Thats awesome thanks! - Is this script runnable from within Agisoft? i have tried all of the python scripts in that folder. I only ask because once we take a dense cloud out of agi i cant put it back in to create a model.

I too would like to know if this can be ran in agisoft, and if so how, are there any instructions anywhere ?

The "cloth" method seems like a fantastic tool for determining bare earth points. However, Agisoft doesn't seem too interested for reasons they have not mentioned. But it has been asked for.

+1 for cleaner DTMs
