Title: Converting a model to an Orthomosaic
Post by: EliEganAnderson on January 03, 2018, 10:33:44 PM
Hello, I'm very new to Agisoft, and am running into an issue where the model view is very different from the orthomosaic that I generate. While the model view has only one image, the ortho leaves a large open gap in the middle. I've attached the two images, currently using the default settings based off the mesh to build the orthomosaic and would love some advice on how to create an orthomosaic which resembles the model better. I've attached pictures to show my issues. Thanks!

Hello EliEganAnderson,

Are you sure that the model is georeferenced correctly? Z axis should be pointing from the reconstructed surface to the camera positions.

According to the screenshot I would say that the orientation is inverted.

I am not entirely sure, the photos were taken from a drone so I assumed the GPS information would be correct, is there an easy way to flip that in AGISOFT? Or a manual way to adjust where the photos were taken from?

Hello EliEganAnderson,

Which coordinate system is selected for the active chunk in the Reference pane settings dialog?

Are you using the same system when generating DEM in the geographic projection?

I am using WGS 84 based on the reference system from the drone. It is the same coordinate system for the DEM and Orthomosaic. I also attached the DEM pic if that will help at all. (Sorry for the delay on my response, I was away from my work computer)

Hello EliEganAnderson,

Can you post the screenshots for the source values of camera coordinates from the Console pane and/or provide the report file generated from this project?

Here's the report from the project. Thanks.

Hello EliEganAnderson,

According to the report the coordinate system is set to Local Coordinates (m) and not to WGS84 (EPSG::4326), you need to go to Reference pane settings dialog and switch the coordinate system to WGS84, then press Update button on the Reference pane. Then you need to rebuild DEM and Orthomosaic.
