Title: Flight Planning App
Post by: keyable on February 02, 2018, 03:48:10 PM
Hello!

It would be great to have Flight Planning app from Agisoft, like Pix4D Capture or DroneDeploy. I use both apps, but they are unreliable and buggy.

So if Agisoft Team could make one of their own, it would be PERFECT!   ;D 8)

I use both apps, but they are unreliable and buggy.
There is also DJI GS Pro app for the DJI drones.

It would be perfect... if this one would be better than others which are mainly design with only very basics tools.
Indeed, many features would be needed in Pix4D Captures, DroneDeploy or DJI GS Pro.

For now I'm using GS Pro, but this one is reaaaally light and cheap (like DJI GO 4) comparing to the quality of their drones...

PLEEEASE if you create something, create something nice and above all complete and multipurpose... we don't need one more "tourist app"  ;D

"UgCS" (https://www.ugcs.com/en/page/photogrammetry-tool-for-land-surveying) works for me.

QGroundControl (QGC (http://qgroundcontrol.com/)) is perfect for Ardupilot or PX4 flight controlers.
It runs on windows, linux and android.

MapPilot with terrain awareness for 20$ is near perfect. Every mission was a success even for unexperienced users like me.

Does anyone know an app that can perform these three operation together on a phantom 4 pro:

1. take RAW pictures
2. fly a double grid
3. take pictures at 45 degrees

I tested pix4dcapture, and it cannot take RAW pictures

Hi Davis,

Try MapPilot.
https://support.dronesmadeeasy.com/hc/en-us/articles/211429203-RAW-Image-Collection

Not sure if the camera can be tilted to 45 degrees though. According to their website its only 0 to 30 degrees (from nadir).

All the best.

I also want to know Flight planning app. Sometimes Google read my emails >:( and after that remind me about my flights. Also, do you know any city guide app (https://www.cleveroad.com/blog/see-how-tourist-app-development-can-enhance-your-business)s?

My private opinion on that is, that the Agisoft Developers should keep their focus on photogrammetry and enhance the features of Photoscan to keep up with the rest of the world. There are enough challenges out there to compete against cloud solutions etc.  Nobody needs a FlightPlanning App when there are tons of them available.

I would prefer to have new features in Photoscan to be ahead on photogrammetric topics and can offer new products and quality to my clients. If not - Photoscan will fall behind and i do not like this idea.

Hi! I think soon will be created VR/AR (you can learn about their differences here (https://mobilunity.com/blog/how-to-differ-virtual-reality-and-augmented-reality-developer/)) apps for that, Lidar sensors are gradually appearing in our lives, for example, integration to the iPhone 12 Pro, so it is simply a matter of time. But the question is - will they will really be well-optimized and functional.

By any chance...
Do you know about any Android app that can utilise the KML file generated by Metashape 1.7 to control a Parrot Bebop 2?

Pix4D can import KML files but I suspect they are not compatible (can't change altitude during mission).

Thank you in advance
