Title: Adding photos/cameras to an existing folder
Post by: Kabe on August 30, 2018, 07:03:08 AM
I'm dabbling around with Photoscan on a rather moderate setup (16 GB of RAM on a laptop), so I'm trying to limit the number of photos/cameras I use.

I start with a rather small camera count, and then have a first run. If I encounter problem zones, more photos/cameras are added to address those,

Now to my question:

Is there a way to add additional photos to the current folder of already aligned cameras, and then recalculate alignment / dense cloud without loosing the calculations that I already did?

Thanks

Klaus

Hello Klaus,

Without re-aligning the complete image set from scratch you can add new photos to already existing alignment only if the initial alignment has stored the key points in the project - it can be provided if Keep Key Points option has been enabled in the Advanced Preferences tab prior to the image matching operation has been started.

Once you have the key points in the aligned project you can add new images to the chunk and run Align Photos operation keeping "Reset Current Alignment" option unchecked in the processing dialog.
