Thanks for the info all. By the looks of it the D3200 will probably not go any faster then 1/200th which leaves me with tommyboys option of smart timing.

Hi Lambo,

I actually had my setup set the way you suggested (rear flash it is called in the cam right?)  and still I saw it happen. I must be doing something wrong then..

But this is suppose to be the way to fix it?

« on: September 30, 2014, 01:06:48 PM »
Hi all,

I am trying to capture jumping people using nikon d3200 cams. Like all cams the shutterspeed limit is around 1/200th How can you overcome this? Anyone solved this already using these cams?

Thnx

Bug Reports / Re: Batch cancel bug

Might be impatiences in stead of a bug. It seemed to happen again and I do see the project file file-size going from 0 -  3gb. So seems like it is doing something...

Bug Reports / Batch cancel bug
« on: July 12, 2013, 11:32:13 AM »
This happened to me twice now: I've started a batch operation (mesh generation) but remembered I wanted to change something so I immediately try to cancel the batch operation before it could get started properly.

The dialog remains in view and the loading bar and time continues but nothing is actually done so far I can tell. I can click on pause but it does not do anything. I can click cancel and it gives me a warning like it normally does but regardless of what I click nothing happens and the dialog box remains open.

I let this sit for a while but it seems to be in a loop. I finally have to force quit photoscan (standard)

The nasty part is that my file is now corrupt.  :'(

Nothing what can be solved by saving often but just something I still wanted to share. Perhaps somebody else can replicate this hang.

I'm sure by now you've all seen this story:

Which is ofcourse cool. I thought they just mapped you picture on a template head. But there is more going on: http://www.disneyresearch.com/project/high-quality-single-shot-capture-of-facial-geometry/

Pretty cool!

Face and Body Scanning / DigiCamControl Open source remote control
« on: May 02, 2013, 09:12:12 AM »
I stumbled on this great application: http://digicamcontrol.com/supported_cameras

It enables remote control from your pc for many more consumer grade dslr not supported by the brands SDK.

Yesterday I easily managed to connect 6 Nikon D3200 simultaneously and control their settings and trigger them. You can even set an trigger interval and number of shots to take. Applications also allows to save the photo's directly to the pc.

Gem of an app!

oh and it is free! But I did immediately made a donation when I found out it worked. Well worth it!

Also I found that setting depth filtering to mild helped in this instance... Guess that is because so much is going on in this example.

Ah yes, masking of course. This was a quick test and was much impressed with the results it gave apart from the artifacts. But if I understand it correctly it is the open faces on the back that have the tendency  to go funky a bit. Makes sense. Thanks Alexey!

Alright, So more photo's could be a solution, going to try that. Tried the smooth mode but that did not make any difference. Thanks!

Hi,

I've recently started experimenting with photoscan and it continues to amaze me how well this works!

But I have a question! I often encounter these kinds of fluffy edges:

And here a single shot from the 32 photo's I've made:

And here is the photoscan file.

What most often causes these errors? I am using the 0.9.1 1654 Beta

I've tried using the gradual selection on te pointcloud to remove some suspect points but it does not seems to make a difference. Also After model creation these fluffies cannot be removed by using gradual selection.

Thanks for any pointers you might have
