Yes, I am using geo-referenced GCPs.  I have come across the USGS 1950's air photography at http://earthexplorer.usgs.gov for my community and have downloaded almost everything they have.  I am also scanning the imagery that we have collected over several years (1970's, 80's, 90's, early 2000's).  I am using GCPs that I can properly identify in present imagery to the older imagery.  I'm not a photo-scientist and I don't expect to get anywhere near 100% accuracy.  I am creating this for "display purposes only".

I am also proficient with ESRI's ArcGIS software and am using a self-developed workflow to create my GCPs in ArcGIS and export them to Photoscan.  I'd be happy to elaborate if interested.  Most of my work is along the ocean and I have lots of 0m elevation GCPs.  For GCPs that I can't find an elevation for, I usually use Google Earth's elevation.  I'm creating (in GIS) and aligning (in Photoscan) all my GCPs in NAD83 UTM 5N.

Here is a link that to a GIS story map app that compares two images: http://bit.ly/18UPfRE

Here is a link to the 'map' that I've been pasting my work onto: http://www.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?webmap=dc3f049703b04952afe8fcd237cd2587
Make sure to go to the content tab and turn on and off layers.  I have several images stacked on each other.

Enjoy!

Paul

Don't worry about it.  Align your photos, build geometry, add ground control points, optimize, re-build geometry, add textures and export into newly created orthophotography from old pictures.

I've been doing this for a while...

cabecinhas,

The GCP will help tell PhotoScan which direction is horizontal in your model.  It may not be the most accurate, but you could try using Google Earth to get X,Y,Z values for the ground control.

Once the horizontal (X,Y) is figured out, exporting your orthomosaic should give you the results that you desire.

I've been using this method (along with current imagery from our GIS system) to orthomosaic old B&W air photography from the early 50's.
