Hi Alexey, I'm not sure if it has happened in build 19890, it hasn't happened in a while. If it does happen again, I will send you a link to the project.
Thanks,
Bill

General / Re: Batch Process>Build Texture use default Pixel size?
« on: January 23, 2025, 04:32:16 PM »
This needs to be estimated, so just estimate and use that value in the batch process field.

When you run Build_Texture... or Build Orthomosaic... individually it, computes the value. Estimating the value for batch mode won't work since the photos for the different chunks were taken at different distances.

Is there a way to automaticly use the default Pixel size with Batch Process>Build Texture?

It appears to use the Texture size when the Pixel size is 0.

Oops! I didn't see this before I created another thread about this feature.

It is a really nice addition. It enhances the relief of an ortho that otherwise looks flat.  8)

I first built the texture using the default pixel size (it is also the default size for the ortho).

Building an orthomosaic with Transfer model texture unchecked finished processing in 107.826 sec

Building an orthomosaic with Transfer model texture checked Finished processing in 38.987 sec

Thank you for adding this Agisoft! It enhances the relief nicely in an ortho that otherwise looks flat.  8)

After running Align Photos... I selected photos that were not aligned, then right clicked and chose Align Selected Cameras. In the Workspace panel it indicates more of the photos aligned, but in the Model view the tie points from the original alignment are gone

Can you please confirm, if the issue is still observed in the latest 2.2.0 update?

Hi Alexey,
Still having issues. I ran Align Photos with Reset current alignment checked, it didn't align all the images. I selected the photos that were not aligned, right clicked and choose align selected cameras. Addition photos were aligned, but the number of tie points dropped to what I guess is the number of tie points for the newly aligned photos. I selected the remaining photos that weren't aligned, right clicked and choose align selected cameras again. More cameras were aligned and the number of tie points increased to what I guess is the total for the alignment.

1) initial alignment 411/440 images aligned, 554,264 tie points
2) second partial alignment, selected images not aligned right click align selected cameras, 417/440 images aligned, 1,856 tie points
3) third partial alignment, selected images not aligned right click align selected cameras, 421/440 images aligned, 567,531 tie points

This issue remains in version 2.2.0 build 19853.

I have two display adapters in my computer, an AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050. In Metashape Preferences it list the AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT twice, one Vulkan and the other OpenCL. By default the OpenCL one is checked. Is this the prefered settings, and what is the difference?

No response from Agisoft Technical Support for well over a week. I hope everything is OK for them. Crazy times in the world these days  :-\.

Just noticed this:
Updated to version 2.2.0 build 19522.

That's encouraging!

The NVIDIA version 566.14 driver is working as expected with Metashape Pro version 2.2.0 build 19440.

Just a note, the NVIDIA app has an automatic tuning feature that safely overclocks your NVIDIA GPU and doesn't affect the warranty.

Hello José,

Can you provide a couple of screenshots and also confirm that the problem is not related to NVIDIA 565-566 drivers bug (same problem if blending is performed on CPU only)?

I have just tried to build texture based on spherical panoramas in 2.2.0.19440 and cannot see any issues.

What is the NVIDIA 565-566 drivers bug? I am currently using Metashape Pro version 2.1.3 build 18946 with NVIDIA driver 566.14, after running Build_Texture the texture looks really messed up, but Build Orthomosaic works fine. What version NVIDIA driver is recommended?

I just saw the thread for the pre-release this evening. I downloaded it and will start using it.

Feature Requests / ability to hide camera groups from model view
« on: December 21, 2023, 06:06:15 PM »
The ability to hide camera groups from the model view would make it easier to select cameras by reducing the number of cameras visible in the view.

This feature was actually in earlier versions of Photoscan. Here is a link to  a Photoscan project file from 2017 that contains a planar ortho with local coordinates.

https://digital-mapping.net/metashape/Photoscan_2017_ortho_with_local_coordinates.zip

When you view the ortho in Metashape, you can see the local coordinates for the planar profile displayed in the bottom right corner of the program window.
If you export the planar ortho with a world file, the world file also contain the local coordinates for the planar projection.

Version 2.1.0 build 17262
In the Photos panel I right clicked on a photo, and chose Change Path.... In Relocate Photos I choose All images and hit OK, then navigate to the new folder and select the listed photo. When I double click an image in the Photos pane it opens the image in a tab. If I right click on an image with only one image selected and then select Check Paths it indicates No missing images detected. If I right click on an image and select Check Paths and then select All images, it indicates missing images and displays the old path. If I run Build Orthomosaic... then hit OK it indicates Missing Images and displays the old path.

11/14/2023 update
This appears due to a few missing photos in the folder. Sorry for not discovering this before the previous post. I think I am becoming senile   :-\
