I think you could try exporting the cameras "export cameras" and then re-import them for the 8-bit files. This should preserve camera positions.

That fixed it, thank you. I had no idea that there was a coordinate reference setting under the Chunk right-click menu.

As you can see, the dimensions exported are too large, or far from the origin, to be usable. The model has a scale bar set to three meters, and I have measured a sample point location in a Maya import to be at -1260.104752 -683.927584 -635675550

You might turn off any specular function in your shaders, which could be adding a milkiness to the image

(solved) The handful of unaligned photos were so far from the scene, it caused the offset. See attached.

My scene is 65million+ units from the origin for some reason, causing the data to import into outside programs with errors and quantization. Is there anything I can do about this? In fact, I cannot even look at the scene after the first dense cloud was generated, as the reset-zoom function puts it so far away that it would take hours of mouse scrolling to get anywhere close to the object on screen.

You could build an xml file containing the camera locations tied to photo names, and read that in via tools-import-cameras.

Some people and cars are moving about in my photos. This has no major impact on 3d-reconstruction though the textures look odd (a flat car painted onto the street, for example.)

Is there a color combination that I can add to images so that the subject areas that I want to omit are not considered for texture contribution to texture generation?

Ruh roh, my old python scripts that import pyside are now broken...

Importing PySide disabled by QtConsole, which has
already imported an incompatible Qt Binding: pyside2

from PySide2.QtGui import QApplication, QDialog, QLayout, QGridLayout, QMessageBox, QGroupBox, QSpinBox, QSlider, QProgressBar, QDial, QDialogButtonBox, QComboBox, QLabel
 ImportError: cannot import name 'QApplication'

Pretty sure I covered this a few centuries ago (seems like):

A more or less standard photography technique with water is to use a linear polarizer set at an angle to block specular reflections. How to control this with a drone is unknown, but certainly possible if you use something like a focus puller on the filter.

Does the mesh need to be pre-aligned and scaled before importation, or can Photoscan's align chunks command register the mesh with another chunk made in Photoscan?

Some obvious suggestions would be to take better texture images vs. lidar devices, or take detailed photoscans of small objects that will replace the same objects in lidar where the lidar resolution is not sufficient.

So if I can could buy any card, including AMD or Quadro, is a 1080 currently the fastest for Agisoft calculations?
