General / Selecting source for orthophotos
« on: September 22, 2014, 04:43:30 PM »
Hi,

I am generating orthomosaics of walls and am having some issues to mosaic them how I would like. I have sets of photos from different times and in most cases I would like the choose the newer photo as the source for the orthomosaic. The surface of the wall is changing over time and the photos can look quite different. However, I can't seem to find a way to do this other than to disable one by one the photos which I don't want it to use. The main option simply picks the photo with the least distortion (central point of the individual photos is closest to the pixel). It would be very time consuming to do manually so I am hoping there is a better method. I thought to use the quality indicator, but I can't find that in the options. Any suggestions? Could I do this through scripts? Are there and guides for scripting with Photoscan?

Regards,
Jon

thanks so much for looking into that! It is true -- I just checked and my workstation doesn't seem to be running the correct drivers. I will provide any updates if I have further problems with the software.

Hello Alexey,

Yes I have submitted a couple of the crash reports. I am having a little bit of success today, but it is still crashing a lot. Thank you for the clarification regarding the startup error.

Hello,

I am a new photoscan user. I have spent some time with the demo version and had some success with the program. However, I bought a Professional license and installed it on Ubuntu. Now, I can't get the software working. Everytime i start a project, it aligns some photos, crashes while saving and corrupts the project file. I have tried with different datasets, different photos, etc. I get an error when I run the software, "QSslSocket: cannot resolve SSLv2 ..." and when it crashes I get the message:, "Segmentation fault (core dumped).

Any advice? could there be soemthing wrong with my install? maybe a package is missing or something?

Many thanks,
Jon
