My company, Twindom, builds full-body 3D scanners for a variety of industries -- and we recently found a few videos from one of our customers, Thyng, using the technology to show off their amazing augmented reality product.

This is one of the coolest full-body 3D scanner applications we've found, and we hope others find it as awesome as we do!

Watch Thyng take a 3D photo with a Twinstant Mobile Full Body 3D Scanner and use it for augmented reality so customers can see themselves in 3D, here:

Face and Body Scanning / 3D Photography Industry Guide
« on: March 22, 2016, 08:14:30 AM »
Twindom just released their 3D photography industry guide - if you're interested in a copy of it, please feel free to message me here or visit our website and fill out the contact form.

http://web.twindom.com/

We've been in the industry for ~3 years now and are eager to share our experiences, our partners' experiences, and the current state-of-the-industry for full body 3D scanning.

This guide is a great way to learn about the industry and learn about how running a 3D photography business works.

Twindom just launched the Twinstant Mobile, which packs into the back of a car and sets up in ~45 minutes for just $19,999.

All of the processing is automatic for you (e.g. OBJ/MTL/JPG come out of the pipeline) and is cloud-based so you don't have to lug around a server rack (just a laptop). 90 cameras, including a calibration camera so you don't have to worry about setting anything manually between captures.

Twindom also offers fulfillment drop-shipping directly to end-customers, so as a scanner operator, all you need to do is scan people and then let them order online.

If you have questions, feel free to message me - I work with Twindom.

Encountering this same issue now - would love to know if anyone has been able to resolve it. I've been installing various OpenGL drivers for the last four hours and haven't had any success.

Happy to change linux flavor if that would assist...
