General / Height error with GCPs
« on: March 09, 2018, 02:47:00 PM »
Hello,

maybe someone has an idea on the solution.

I used GCPs for georeferencing my project.
The coordinates are imported correctly as i can see in the reference pane.

But then i go to "show computed coordinates" the coordinates for the reference points are different.

When i now create new points they seem to have the height from the computed points, which is wrong.

For example:
Import 4 reference points with a height of 100m. Agisoft Photoscan pro is computing a height about 2m deeper, 98m.
When i then create points and export them they also are at 98m height.

Agisoft Viewer / Working with Agisoft Viewer
« on: February 01, 2018, 01:41:13 PM »
We are working with Photoscan Professional for some time now and its working great.

Now we would like present our customers the data.

Installing Agisoft Viewer is not a Problem, but which Format do i use for file Transfer?
I used oc3 and obj files now.
Is there any better option?

And what can we do with the data in the Viewer?
Is there a way to measure things or maybe create a line in the model?

Thanks a lot.

Found the button.

Allright.

Thanks a lot to both of you.

Especially the part with the accuracy helped me a lot.

One thing remains unclear:

The check points

If i import GCP coordinates they are displayed in the reference menu.
If i now create a new point using "create marker" the point number is also displayed in the reference menu, but no coordinate is displayed.

Finding a way to do that in Agisoft directly would be nice, but the workaround using cloud compare is okay also, since i need cloud compare to create the E57 files. Picking points there and export the coordinates should be possible.

General / Some general questions about Photoscan
« on: April 27, 2016, 12:16:36 PM »
Hello,

i am using Photoscan Professional since about 18 months now, had about 20 projects and now some question came up.
If  you could help me on this, it would be very nice.

1. In the past we had some problem with the visualization of the 3D PDF.
On PCs with less RAM then 8GB the 3D PDF was displayed properly.
In the moment you move/turn it, the point cloud turns red.

I expect it to be a problem, when the PC does not have enough RAM.
Is there any value how much RAM is needed to display 3D PDF?

2. Point cloud accuracy

A week ago we had the question "which parts influence the accuracy of the point cloud".
Of course, the size of the pixels matter significantly.
Which other sources influence the overall accuracy, like overlap pf the pictures etc..?

3. Is it possible to view point coordinates in Photoscan?
Like picking a point and seeing the coordinate after implementing GCPs (overall error 5cm).

4. Last point in workflow menu is "create orthophoto".
The resolution of that picture is not as good as the resolution of the original pictures.
So if i want to perform measurements in that picture it is not very accurate.
An area which is 10 pixels in the original pictures is about 2-3 pixels in the ortho picture.

I am glad for any help you can give me.

I have downloaded CloudCompare but i cannot save any data from that software.

I can import the e57 point cloud but the button "SAVE" stays grey.

Bug Reports / E57 export
« on: August 18, 2015, 11:00:57 AM »
I dont know if this is necessarily a bug but it is causing some problems.

We are using Agisoft Photoscan to create 3D Models.
As a result we are exporting the point cloud in e57 format.

I have tried to use the e57 export in different software for further processing and get an error in any of these.
I know our software can import e57 data, tried it with scanning data and other point clouds (not from photoscan).
Just the e57 format coming from Photoscan cannot be interpreted.

Is there any known issue?
Other people having problems using the e57 format from Photoscan?

I have been looking if there are any differences in e57 format definition, but it seems to be a standard.

How did u create the marker points?
Do they have coordinates?

I have just opened one of my projects with GCPs (with coordinates) and added some markers.
In markers pane i cannot check the boxes next to my new marker points.

Could be cause they dont have any coordinates.

Maybe the marker is not recognized in enough pictures.

"reprojection error"

the reprojection error is the computed difference between what u see in the photos and the model.
If, for example, the reprojection error ist 1/2pixel, then all points are tied to their positions with the maximum divergance of 1/2 pixel.

"effective overlap"

i am not quite sure but i would say when u choose an overlap of 50% in your flight software with uav, u never "really" get that result, the effective overlap is then the real value

The last sentence with the points i didnt understand.
Sry.

Hope this helps a bit.

General / Re: Coordinate conversion from ellipsoid to geoid
« on: June 02, 2015, 03:23:13 PM »
Helmert tranformation is the easiest way for 7-parameter transformation.
So i assume its helmert.

EGM 96 is part of the WGS84 definition, so the geoid model u use when selecting WGS must be EGM96.

That was my contribution to the solution :).

Now my question (i am quite new to agisoft):

How did u convert the project into another coordinate system?EDIT:  FOUND IT
