Bug Reports / cannot write points error (when exporting dense point cloud)
« on: December 23, 2015, 07:17:23 PM »
The sparse point cloud will export without an error. No matter which quality dense point cloud i try to export in any format, or coordinate system i get a "cannot write points" error. Agisoft version 1.2.1 any ideas?

Thanks
John

my end goal or how i think the translation in the software should work would be. Once the photos are imported assuming the positioning is based on WGS84 which im sure it is. After all processing is done any object i would think should be able to be exported by any option chosen wether or not ground control or reference points have been placed.

I would try to print some targets available in the software. Place them in a triangular pattern as the previous posted stated. When placing choose and even distance with a steel tape measure between them. Hold "0" for elevation "z" at all three points. Hold 0,0 for xy of one and figure the rest based on your measurements. This should work and your ground will be referenced to "0" and everything will be based on height from there.

Ok so based on your comment I'm going to assume I have to have reference coordinates for the project. I was under the assumption the software would convert the native wgs84 positions and altitude from the drone posotion. So in order for this to work I must have nad83 - navd88 ground control reference to the project for that export option to work. If I was using reference points there would be no need to even have that as an option I wouldn't think. Technically the actual reference should work as a local grid therefor not requiring a specific datum export format.
Thanks

General / Adding navd88 geoid as vertical translation

good day.

I have downloaded and added the tiff file from your site to the programs folder. After i process a project and select a coordinate system. If i choose NAD83 + NAVD88 i get an error stating "unsupported vertical datum". The final product export i am looking for is to have all elevations relative to NAVD88. Any help would be appriciated.

Thanks
John
