General / L16 camera
« on: July 20, 2018, 11:04:04 AM »
Hi,

Does anyone have opinions on the new multi lens L16 camera as aplied through PS?

It claims to have some sort of 3D capacity, through merging all the images together.  Does that mean that the photographs would be altered so not usable by PS?

I was thinking that using this camera would use fewer camera positions and generate manay photgraphs to be used in PS.

On the other hand having a good camera and lens combination and care in selecting locations would give an optimum series of images for PS, rahter than a batch of random images from an L16 camera.

Any ideas?

General / Licensing terms for network solution
« on: July 12, 2017, 11:38:44 AM »
Hi,

I have a Standard license and a Professional license.  I want to use a network solution to remotely process heavy loads of images to high resolution on something like Amazon WebService.  How do I go about this?

Could I create a project and align the photos to a low resolution in my local machine using the Standard license and then export everything to the remote machine where the Professional license would be installed, do the heavy processing to create a detailed model and then export the final product back to my local machine?

Does a floating license make any sense here?  I don't really want to buy a new license to allow this to happen.

Can you suggest any easier way to enable this?

Excellent! Production underway.

So what did I do wrong?  I must have left this checked when I was exploring the settings and forgot to uncheck it.

Thanks very much!

I'm using a Sony A6000 with the 16-50 lens.  Seems to work well with the lens set to 16mm and mid range resolution.

My real favorite is the Sony A7 with a sigma 19mm prime lens.

Now installed windows update KB4013429, on the basis of 'if I can't go back, I may as well go forward'.  Locks PS at the same stag, so I tried opening an old file, which worked find, I then tried realigning that file and it locked up the whole computer.

Very frustarating as I have a big production job to run now.  Would it help to dual load linux and run PS through that?

Forgot to say it is Windows 10 and system restore (Go Back) doesn't work as it is more than 30 days old.

Never had a Win 10 problem before.

Hi,

Looking through my computer, the only change I can see since the last successful operation of PS is Windows update KB4013418.  There seem to be lots of complaints about this bricking computers, some even entirely.  The only programme I seem to have an issue is PS.

General / PS freezes at 98% of Detecting Points

Hi,

Photoscan has worked perfectly up to three days ago.  Not sure what happened, but in the Aligning Photos session it freezes at 98% of Detecting Points and has to be closed using Task Manager.

I've changed all the settings, reinstalled and deleted any software from the last few days, but still no luck.

This is PS Professional 1.3, latest build

Thanks for any guidance

12 hours later and a fresh download, and it all works perfectly.

I just need to get up to speed with the new features.

Bug Reports / Windows installer not working on 1.2.5
« on: July 29, 2016, 09:23:23 AM »
I get a message on attempting to install 1.2.5

'This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package.'

Trying to go on a windows 10 64 bit machine.1.2.4 works fine.

Any ideas, Thanks
