Bug Reports / Re: Toolbar doesn't work (solved)

Hello again Alexey,

Sorry to bother you with this. I am again having difficulty.

As back on June 12th, shortcut properties indicate I am running in ANGLE mode (see attached), however, when I open Agisoft, the console suggests I am not.

2019-01-08 17:52:38 Agisoft PhotoScan Standard Version: 1.4.3 build 6529 (64 bit)

The only way I can run in ANGLE compatibility mode is to launch cmd.exe "C:/Program Files/Agisoft/PhotoScan/photoscan.exe" --opengl angle

Previously (in June) I ran the command "C:/Program Files/Agisoft/PhotoScan/photoscan.exe" --opengl angle everything was fine. Now I need to run the command every time.  Am I missing something?

Cheers

That got it:

Does running Agisoft in this format alter the software at all?

Thank you ever so much.

Hello Alexey,

Thank you for your correspondence.

Sorry, I don't know how to open PhotoScan in ANGLE from cmd.exe.

If you mean copying "C:/Program Files/Agisoft/PhotoScan/photoscan.exe" --opengl angle to the target line, that is what I had already tried.

Apologies again. I am not terribly 'techy'.

Hello,

I am experiencing the same difficulties mentioned above in Standard edition on a week old 32Gb, core i7, Windows 10 x64.

I added the --opengl angle command (see attached), however, the log doesn't indicate that PhotoScan is running in the ANGLE compatibility mode (see below), and the problem persists.

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly, JMR.

MRM looks like a great tool that could come in handy on site. I am tracing paintings (hand stencils etc), not etchings, so MRM is probably not the right tool for me on this project.

Thank you again.

Hello Lads,

I came across this post under a, 'rock art', search. I hope you don't mind me butting in?

I (well, the colleague I am helping who is not a native Eng speaker) am similarly hoping to trace paintings from a large rock panel in a cave using, 'corel draw'. We have already built a pretty crisp textured model and are now wondering what the next step should be?

As in your case, Mark, the surface is complex and the end product would show the shape of the model with only the tracing on top.

Apologies for this unrefined description, but, I was wondering if exporting an .obj into a mesh ed app then 'unrolling' the concave surface of the rock wall to become a flat, 2D image to trace would be ideal? Or would that distort the paintings?

Thank you in advance,

David

P.s.
I watched your youtube animation from Guam, Mark, very impressive!! How did you create that?

Thanks Alexy,

Working again.

Hello,

I am having the same problem as when running the updated version off,  windows 10 64 bit.

Apologies in advance, but,  how do I run the programme in ANGLE?

General / Sony Alpha 7R calibration (full frame sensor)
« on: October 19, 2016, 04:23:52 PM »
Hello All,

I have been using an EOS 70D to capture images of bones on a turntable. Yesterday the shutter packed it in (in fairness I shot about 20k images in the past few weeks), and I have been loaned a Sony Alpha 7R while my EOS is being fixed.

The Sony Alpha is a full frame sensor. I have included a number of scaling items in the shots to enable bone measurements later, must I  calibrate the Sony in processing? If yes, how?

Cheers

General / MASKING AND MANUAL ALIGNMENT OF CAMERAS
« on: August 10, 2016, 05:32:07 PM »
Hello,

I have taken a series of photos of an item on a turntable. I took a blank 'masking' image at the start, but, despite cut/pasting the mask image's file name (IMG_XXXX_mask.png; Method:from background; Operation:replacement) and including the correct file origin, the file pathway is not recognised and 'can't load...'. I am sure the solution is very simple but any help is appreciated.

Following the failed masks I masked manually.

Most cameras aligned well but there are a few that did not. Furthermore, the chunks did not align as accurately as I'd hoped.

I have read through the forum you can use markers to manually align cameras that have failed to register in the initial 'Align Photos' stage. There is also an option to manually align chunks in a similar manner.

Is this feature available in the Standard edition? I cannot find n option to set markers anywhere.

Thanks in advance.

DMcG
