I have 2S E5-2670 CPUs, hyperthreading disabled, and one core per CPU turned off bc I have two graphics cards.   Is this the fastest configuration for these processors?  Some steps are painfully slow on such a powerful workstation.  I have no trouble with the GPU assisted stuff with a nvidia Titan black and a evga 660ti (soon to be another Titan black) but I feel my processors are too slow.  I read up on upgrading them to a pair of E5-2690s, and I think I can, but I'm not another $500 sure that they're compatible with my motherboard or whatever.  I believe the machine is capped at 3.3GHz in the bios but in not savvy enough to be that confident.  Can someone please advise me?

Try different lighting and be sure to make sure there is plenty of overlap.  I'm no expert by any means but I've done some with Aerial footage

I'm sorry I didn't address the alignment issue.  I was more fixated on the integrity of the data you'll be using for either your own decision making or for a customer and I want you to be aware of the possible discrepancies in your vegetation indexes

Did you process in two separate chunks, then merge the layers?

I suppose that could be possible if you were able to trigger both cameras at the same time and ensure they have the same ISO settings and whatnot.   Basically, you want the red band of your RGB camera and the NIR band to be collecting the "exact" same reflectance because even half of a second of delay between the two could and most likely will give you erroneous information.  Because a ratio of NIR and Red reflectance are used to create an index from -1 to +1, which indicates good (or poor) healthy vegetation, that index can be skewed one way or another if the two sensors are collecting different reflectances.

I hope this helps.

What degree of spatial resolution are you trying to achieve?  I have a Samsung NX1100 with a gps module and I can only get accuracy of about 10m from the ground.  The sUAS is around a meter. I have been messing around with this same issue only a little bit but from my experience, the difficulty getting ground based imagery to "sync" with your aerial imagery is overlap.

Try using some gps coded markers under trees or in those tight spots that will be in the fov of your Aerial imagery so your ground based photos can have a point of reference.  I would also consider trying to elevate yourself as much as possible to capture more of an oblique angle rather than a perpendicular shot.

Please let me know how this works out for you.

Beta has fixed the issue.

Also, I liquid cooled everything and dropped the temps from about 80C to 50C.  I'm not sure if heat throttling had anything to do with this or not but I figured it's worth mentioning.

I didn't have luck rolling back the drivers but I only tried a few.

So here is where I am now with these large datasets 200-500 photographs at 12-20MP; I have had luck throttling back the clock speed of my GPU.  I was getting performance caps based on available power and voltage reliability on my Titan black.  After clocked it back a bit, I didn't have nearly as much trouble as before but the problem still perisisted.  I added a second, very small card out of another computer (gtx 745) to run my displays.  This also worked with returning the clock speed on my Titan black to stock settings. I am currently having success with running both GPUs during photo alignment and dense cloud generation.

From these experiences it seems that if your GPU throttles back during a heavy workload, these power fluctuations are causing some issue at "line 67".  I suggest slowing your GPU clock speed and memory clock a bit and see if this helps you.  Also try adding a monitor display card to use your larger GPU (array) to lower the demand on a single graphics card.

I hope this helps and I'll continue to update you all as I find "fixes"

Does the prompt read "launch error at line 67"?

ah, thanks for the workaround.  I suppose that's why it intermittently worked for me.  I rolled back the drivers a dozen versions or so and it didn't seem to help.

If need be, I will also supply log information to help with this issue.

I had the nvidia card selected in the preferences; when I deselected it, I am able to do the processing.  All drivers are up to date.  There were a couple of times I had this same error during photo alignment when I was using GPU acceleration but other times I didn't.  Same with the point cloud, sometimes it would go ahead and process on a lower quality setting but it works on all settings with GPU acceleration off.  I assume it's the size of the dataset that is messing with me.  It's not particularly big and would be great if someone from agisoft could find a solution without me purchasing yet another graphics card.

Bug Reports / launch error at line 67

I have been getting the failure "launch error at line 67" when performing a dense cloud generation.  it always happens during the restructuring depth phase.   I fiiiiiiiiinally got it to finish processing by selecting the lowest setting possible.  I have the necessary computing power to do 15 of these at one time, so I don't understand why I am having this trouble.   I am running dual xeon e5 2670s, 128GB RAM, and a nvidia geforce titan black.   any ideas?

A picture doesn't portray how slow this really is.... it will say a few minutes and might take 40.
