Python and Java API / python script to map project models texture?
« on: January 12, 2018, 12:58:20 AM »
Hello,

I am trying to obtain a flattened image of the outside of my models, which are cylindrical cores of rock. But I need the texture, not necessarily the model, so unrolling the mesh in an external program ( I used Meshlab) didn't work because the texture did not stay with the mesh upon exporting.

when I export the texture in Agisoft it comes out all chopped up.
Is there a way to export the texture so that it is one continuous image? or perhaps a python script that could project the texture like a map projection?

Thanks for any suggestions, sorry I don't have too much to go on.

Hello Alexey Pasumansky,

I didn't set any coordinates so the project should have the local coordinates from the default settings. The model is a cylindrical core of rock, so there aren't any geographical reference points.

If I could somehow force certain points in the photos to be a certain coordinate in the model, would that work?

Thanks for troubleshooting with me!

Hello,

I have masked and aligned my photos but the sparse point cloud is only visible at certain viewing angles and I can't select any of the points in it. Also when I zoom in and out the point cloud appears in different places.

I masked all my images with the selection tools and constrained the alignment by mask. The photos are .JPG files. I completed a project before using the same technique and it worked great so I have no idea why this isn't working. The only difference is that the other project used .jpg files (not capitalized) I don't think that should make a difference though.

Thank you in advance for any help!
