I just did a photo quality analysis and in the details window I have this error message during processing.

Hello everyone and sorry for my late reply. Thank you also for your advice. As I was pressed for time, I deleted the GPS data from the photos and then aligned them and it worked very well. Then, I put my control points on the ground and then I entered the GPS coordinates of the control points on the ground that a geometer sent me. And everything ended well as you can see. I will come back to see you as soon as I finish to understand with you the problem that happened. I think the problem came from the RTK mobile base of phantom 4. It was on its way but not connected to the network. I think the GPS data was not good. This is an assumption because the recovery of the photos was very good and I had no misalignment however it was the Z position which was not even on two consecutive drone flights and on the same place. bye

Good evening,

I think I have found the solution which corresponds to your suggestion. I separated the shots into several chunks then I optimized the position of the cameras of each chunk which has the effect of reducing the position error to less than 1 centimeter then I make an alignment of the chunks. The result is there I no longer have the Z offset. I don't know if I used the best process. What do you think?

Hello,

I would need information because I notice a Z offset when aligning the images in the partial cloud of my project.


We had to survey with a phantom 4 RTK and its base an area of ​​30 hectares. We divided this area into several sectors that we took pictures of over several days and over two weeks.

There were no changes to flight parameters. Once the shots were finished, I imported all the images into a single chunk and started aligning the photos. I have no errors of recoveries however I note a shift in Z of certain zones as you will be able to see it on the attachments. How can I fix it? Because I then have to make a DEM and an Orthomosaic. Thanks for your help.

Hello,

With a Phantom 4 RTK, I took pictures of a place in several zones but I have a problem of alignment in Z between the zones. They stack up. Some of the photos show altitude errors of one meter when I look in the reference tab. Could it come from that?

Another observation, the photos of each zone have the same numbering. During alignment, could this be a problem?

Hello everybody,


I would like to know if this error message indicates that my computer is not powerful enough to create an orthophotography or if it is something else. I have an Intel Core I9 2.80Ghz with 64GB of ram memory.

I have a point cloud with more than 7000 images. I did not have any problems to create the dense cloud as well as the DEM however when I launch the Orthophotography, I have this message. Thank you for your answers.

The CPGs were put before export. A text file of GPCs coordinates was given by a geometer and imported into Photoscan using your tutorial.

How can I send you the Photoscan report because the file size is too big to be attached.

Good morning to all,

I come back with a new problem importing or exporting my E57 file. In fact, I scaled the point cloud with GPC (see below in attachment) and then I exported in several blocks to another software. The import time was extremely long. More than a week for 10 imported blocks. I stopped importing because I had more than 50 blocks to import.

However, I had the curiosity to look at the blocks that I had managed to import into the other software. And, by measuring a parking space, I found that the unit of measurement was wrong since the measurement is in kilometres instead of in metres.

Unless I’m mistaken, I think I understand now why the import is so long because if 5 meters becomes 5 kilometers, my point cloud of 4 km in reality becomes 4000 km!

How to solve this problem?

Hello I have to calculate the volume of a pile of salt for a customer but the pile is set against 3 walls. I followed the tutorial to calculate the volume but it does not manage to calculate the volume that is against the walls because Photoscan uses the visible edges of the pile to close the dot cloud. THX for your help.
