Hello Probert,

good holiday!

When you export from ArcGis, check your prj file. It should have an AUTHORITY["EPSG","9518"] record in case of WGS84 + EGM2008 compound CS as in:
Code: [Select]
COMPD_CS["WGS 84 + EGM2008 height",
GEOGCS["WGS 84",
DATUM["World Geodetic System 1984 ensemble",
SPHEROID["WGS 84",6378137,298.257223563,AUTHORITY["EPSG","7030"]],TOWGS84[0,0,0,0,0,0,0],AUTHORITY["EPSG","6326"]],
PRIMEM["Greenwich",0,AUTHORITY["EPSG","8901"]],
UNIT["degree",0.01745329251994328,AUTHORITY["EPSG","9102"]],AUTHORITY["EPSG","4326"]],
VERT_CS["EGM2008 height",
VERT_DATUM["EGM2008 geoid",2005,AUTHORITY["EPSG","1027"]],
UNIT["metre",1,AUTHORITY["EPSG","9001"]],AUTHORITY["EPSG","3855"]],
AUTHORITY["EPSG","9518"]]

if not present then MS will not recognize the CS and better to just delete the prj and during import specify the correct CS...

Hope this is helpful
?
It looks like ArcGIS does not have that on their EPSG 9518. BTW, what do you meant AUTHORITY ?

If you import the shapefiles from any GIS ( I am using ArcGIS Pro) and I always notice that the shapefile is below the Terrain... For some reason I don't know .

See screenshot,

But if you open Agisoft Viewer,  if you import any shapefiles from any GIS Software  it is still below the surface BUT if you re-draw over the original shapefile,  it will overlay correctly ....

I will need to do some more work around for that in the Viewer....

Got it. I will check that tomorrow morning.. If that doesn't work I will take out the prj file and see...

I will let you know .

Paulo and Kjells85,

I will give a try when I get the chance tomorrow. Today is the National Holiday here in USA and I am not working today.

In fact, when I use the WGS84 along with the EGM 2008, MS will not support it. So I went back to Export again in ArcGIS Pro 2.9.2  and without the EGM 2008 and it works...

But as Paulo said take out the prj file.. I will try that..

No, You can use your EPSG 25833 but I can see it comes with the Datum. Maybe Try to remove the datum and see if that works..

I had to do this because it would not work on my side with the datum... so I just remove it and just use the WGS84 to see it and it is the only way I can do this..

Yeah you need to go back to GIS Software whatever you use and do not use the datum.

For example, when I use my MS , I use WGS 84 with EGM 2008 height..

So for instance, I go back to ArcGIS Pro  and I draw anything I need to export to MS,  I just export just WGS84 with no datum as a shapefile...

I think Alexey might have a better answer to your question than I do .  If you go to Ortho View, It is usually shows you at the lower right corner and it tells you what it uses the Coordinate System.

From the Help inside the Software Metashape:

You would need to do this MS Excel or any that can read  or save as with  .csv.

See screenshot.

Mine would not allow my aerial photos with 16 bits in Metashape. I had to convert or export to 8 bits in order to work with them in the software.  I don't know about the  colors. I asked Alexey about that and he said only 8 bits works...  BTW, they are in black and white phots .

You can try and add a few of them to the software and see what happens.

Perhaps can if you want share us your screenshot of your issues to us. Maybe one of us can help you.

Thank you.

My other mind is should I use the file that  I had with HTML and copied it to Excel. Then save as a csv. So I can import them into as a markers ready ?

Thank you for  reading my post... I can see no answer here  BUT I think I realized that I am not enough clear.

At that time,  I use  ERDAS Imagine  Autosync, I just use few markers there and then hit the button APM to run it. So when I finished and I saved the summary. In it has a file that is in HTML and
I copied and paste and save it in Excel and then open ArcGIS and export it as a shapefile.  I can see that it is correct projection in NAD83 UTM Zone 13.  It is in Colorado, USA.

I mosaic it in ArcGIS using their mosaic dataset, but problem it is not overlapped correct and I want to do it in Agisoft Metashape.

Do I need to do refresh all over with no coordinate using align workflow and then  use the markers from Autosync summary file ( Export to shapefile) and select a few areas .

Can I use the NAD 83 UTM Zone 13 for reference ?

How can I have the shapefile that is already in UTM NAD83 Zone 13 back into Agisoft Metashape ? I'd like to use them .

Thanks

General / ERDAS AutoSync and Metashape project Question
« on: March 25, 2022, 04:30:42 AM »
Has anyone in here worked on Autosync workstation in the past and use it from ERDAS of the same project and use it in Agisoft Metashape and evaluate it  ?

When I first stared using ERDAS AutyoSync and worked on them.  My co-worker was not happy with the results. My co-worker recommend me of this Agisoft Metashape and worked on it since then.

I still have it and what I am trying to do is retrieve the points that I used from Autoysnc and use them in Agisoft Metashape .

So have you ?? I'd like to hear comments on it.

My plan was to get one of them and use it to correct the errors that I did in Autosync.

Thanks !

You have one projection that MAY be causing the error . It needs to have at least 2 projections.  ( See Point 33 )
