I am new to scripting in the console but would love to be able to automate this step. When I copy and paste the shared script (thanks!) into the console and hit return I get "NameError: name 'app' is not defined". What would a newbie need to know to use the script? Thank you!

Good point. Thank you Paulo!

General / Smoothing boundaries between drone flight paths on DEM
« on: April 22, 2022, 02:56:00 AM »
I've created a textured model based on drone imagery and then built/exported a DEM in Metashape. However, there are pronounced ridges along the edges of my flight path areas, appearing as if showing the edge of a terrace. How can I smooth these seams/ridges? They should be apparent in the attached image. Any advice is appreciated!

I would be interested too, thank you. I teach GIS and Remote Sensing (for archaeology) and would love to play around with the data. Cheers!

General / Aligning and Merging Chunks of Drone Photos
« on: December 02, 2019, 05:05:17 PM »
I have 8000 photos split up into 28 chunks. Each chunk contains photos taken during a single flight session that someone else took for me. All photos in each chunk were aligned using GPS points/reference preselection. I haven't processed dense cloud in these chunks yet; only sparse cloud.

When I go to Align Chunks, I see a pair preselection option but not a reference preselection, which I was hoping for. But I can quickly merge all chunks (skipping the Align Chunks step) and it seems to overlap correctly because my cameras have GPS metadata. Now that I have everything in one chunk I can proceed as normal, correct? Move straight to Build Dense Cloud, skipping Align Chunks?

Thanks!

Python and Java API / Re: How to merge two .psx files

Can anyone tell me how to properly fill in this code to merge two .psx files? I'm a newby at code, but have done some scripting and just need an example of the code filled in so I can emulate it. Thanks.

Hello! Thanks in advance for your help.

I have successfully produced a model from GPS referenced drone pics. Overall the model looks good. My bounding box is correctly around the model, with the red side below it. It is also in the correct UTM zone.

My question is: why are my predefined views tilted? If I select top (or bottom for that matter), it is shown at an angle instead, tilted, and when I export an orthophoto it too, of course, is tilted at the same angle. I need to export this as both a DEM and Orthophoto to import into a GIS. See image for tilt, shown using the "top" predefined view.

I seem to remember this happening before, but I use Photoscan irregularly and can't remember what I did to fix this before.

Thank you!
