Hi all! We need to be able to re-texture a mesh using 16-bit shots, to produce a 16-bit texture. The mesh itself will be produced using 8-bit shots (it's a long story), but we need to "paint" it after the fact with 16-bit.
The whole question of bit depth has been flying around for so long I'm a little confused! Can someone please clarify which 16-bit input formats are supported today, and please can you also confirm we'll get 16-bit textures as an output. If we need to be working with 32-bit that's fine too, but we need a better range than 8-bit can give us.
All help welcome!
Thanks
Mike
