General / OpenCL not supported error
« on: November 25, 2016, 08:36:35 AM »
Hi, I am starting to process my dense cloud and I get the error "OpenCL not supported". I am currently using an Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 graphics card.

Does anyone know how I can fix this issue?

Thanks,

Vince

General / Ultra High has more occlusions and holes than High
« on: January 15, 2014, 11:00:41 PM »
I have noticed that with my latest few projects that Ultra High meshes yield more occlusions than the High meshes.

Is this normal? Are there any settings that I can use to alleviate it?

Also, with Ultra High, the clean areas do have more definition, however other areas are either missing or ill defined...

Thanks for the help!

Face and Body Scanning / Camera setup for scanning hands
« on: January 14, 2014, 11:59:24 AM »
Hi, I am trying to scan a closeup of a hand.

Can anyone give me an idea of what the camera setup should be and how many images.

Thanks!

Vince

General / Re: Best post processing in Lightroom
« on: October 21, 2013, 08:13:41 AM »
Sounds about right... My lighting is pretty good, but I'm using continuous lighting and therefore I don't have as many lumens as strobes.

On screen the adjusted images from Lightroom look way "punchier", hopefully this translates into a better scan.

Also, is it worth doing any kind of noise filtering or would that alter the data too much?

General / Best post processing in Lightroom
« on: October 21, 2013, 04:23:12 AM »
Just wondering what the best technique is for post processing images in Lightroom?

I suspect that I might need to "open up" some of my shadows. However, would I want to just adjust the levels or is there a better way to optimize the images for PS?

Any advice would be helpful, thanks!

General / Re: 20 hours for reconstructing depth?
« on: October 20, 2013, 11:36:02 AM »
The time dropped to about 7 hours about an hour intoprocessing

I was successful with 27 similar images before, so fingers crossed!

Thanks for the info.

General / 20 hours for reconstructing depth?
« on: October 20, 2013, 09:44:02 AM »
Hi, I just began an ultra high mesh generation with 37 18mp images.

The dialog box is estimating 19:35 hours for reconstructing depth.

Is this realistic? Is there something I can do to speed up this process?

btw, I running 24 gig of ram, 8 cores (using 7), NVidia Quadro FX 1800.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

General / pixel difference in movement
« on: March 07, 2013, 01:56:12 AM »
Just wondering how much of a pixel difference Photoscan can compensate for movement.

Is there a way to increase or decrease this? Just curious...

Great, so as long as I don't reposition the exported OBJ from Photoscan, the world space coordinates will remain constant. That's what I assumed...

Thanks

Once, I finish creating hi-poly geometry in Photoscan, what is the process for updating UV's for better texture projection.

If I understand the process correctly, I can export the Photoscan mesh as an OBJ, retopo, layout new UVs, and project hi-res details (I am using Zbrush). Then reimport the new mesh back into Photoscan before I create the texture.

Any tips on this process would be helpful!

General / aligning manually created images
« on: March 30, 2012, 09:43:56 AM »
Is it possible for Agisoft to create a simple mesh from manually created images.

For example, I have images of a particular sculpt, but the object is moved and the light conditions change. Obviously this doesn't work in Agisoft.

Can I manually create a series of locating dots to create a simplified mesh?
