Feature Requests / Export photo with alpha channel

It would be good if Metashape exported the original image with a true alpha channel. In my case I generated mask in Metashape from a model. I would like to touch up the alpha in Photoshop. When I export mask from Metashape with the option "Image with alpha channel" it creates the image as a layer with a no-data area where the mask was instead of exporting the whole image with a true alpha channel.

It would be good if under Layers it was Background.

and under Channels it was:
RGB
Red
Green
Blue
Alpha

Is there a way to automaticly use the default Pixel size with Batch Process>Build Texture?


It appears to use the Texture size when the Pixel size is 0.

Thank you for adding this Agisoft! It enhances the relief nicely in an ortho that otherwise looks flat.

The ability to hide camera groups from the model view would make it easier to select cameras by reducing the number of cameras visible in the view.

Feature Requests / simple text file with shift values for model import

It would be handy if a simple text with shift values could be used when importing models, instead of entering them into the dialog box. It would also be handy if Metashape wrote such a file when it exported a model.

It would be handy to be able to  classify ground points by distance (proximity) to an imported mesh (surface).

It would be handy to be able to filter tie points by variance to easily select and delete the tie points with the largest errors.

General / ".prj" exported with Global Mapper shapefile doesn't work with Metashape

Projection file ".prj" exported with Global Mapper shapefile doesn't work with Metashape Professional.

I have attached a zip file with an exported shape file from Global Mapper and a shape file exported from Metashape Professional, so the ".prj" files can be compared.

It would be useful to be able to Build DEM and Build Mesh using dense cloud as the source with an option to choose a point confidence range, similar to the Point class filter incorporated into these routines.

General / strict volume mask and Metashape Pro 1.6.5

Was strict volume mask removed from Metashape Pro 1.6.5.

I'm modeling a wall with windows and the Muntins aren't being modeled.



I was going to test strict volume mask to see if it helped.

Feature Requests / independent routine for creating depth maps

Would be handy to generate depth maps independent of build dense point cloud or build mesh. Then at a later time could create either a mesh or point cloud from the previously created depth maps.
