General / Can´t merge chunks models
« on: September 14, 2015, 12:03:24 AM »
Dear All,

It seems that nothings happens when merging both chunk models into 1. Is this happening to anyone else?

Thanks,
Manuel Franquelo.

General / Orthomosaic generation
« on: August 12, 2015, 12:26:18 PM »
Dear All,

I am new on this Agisoft feature, Orthomosaic building. I've read on another topic that it wouldn't be needed to generate the mesh in order to create the orthomosaic on version 1.2.0 (I might be wrong however). I've just generated the dense cloud but the "Build Orthomosaic" "Build DEM" are on grey.

Am I doing something wrong? Should I select something first?  :-\

Thanks!  :)

Feature Requests / Viewport optimisation - Performance settings
« on: August 10, 2015, 01:42:32 PM »
When displaying a huge polygon count mesh (14 million) or whatever number, it would be great to optimise the visualization based on FPS like many 3d softwares. Something like a decimated mesh for rotation & zooming etc. Could also use a visualization option to automatically change to point cloud when rotating the mesh or moving it.

Best,

Manuel Franquelo.

General / Correcting model's axis
« on: June 11, 2015, 03:06:59 PM »
Dear all,

I can´t seem to be able to correct the model's axis. I am trying to do a turntable movie on zBrush -as of now i didn´t need to correct the axis- but it seems that zBrush uses the model's axis and not the global zBrush axis to rotate the model across time.

I dont have references to create scale bars for this particular model... so i can´t scale it nor orientate it.
I've tried using a .py script that i've found to match the bounding box axis. But it doesnt seem to work...

Any ideas? :-)

General / Can´t build dense cloud
« on: January 29, 2015, 02:52:16 PM »
Hello,

I've been trying for a while to scale my model using the system -very well explained- in IR webpage.
This is what i am doing:

1. Align photos using 90.000 and 0 tie points. High quality
2. My hand has two dots with 5mm separation. I place marker 1 at one point and marker 2 at the other point
3. I create a scale bar with those two points
4. I write on the distance tab 0.005 (m) with corresponds to 5mm separation
5. I push "update"

-- After optimizing i get this error when trying to build the dense point cloud.
- I am using the latest 1.1 build-

Any suggestions ? (i might be doing something stupid and wrong?) ^^

Thanks,
Manuel.

What the title says! there are great libraries about non rigid alignment. That would be awesome for facial scans  :)

Face and Body Scanning / LED arrays
« on: April 28, 2014, 01:26:49 AM »
Dear all,

Does anybody have any experience with high power LEDS ? in arrays if possible... im planning to shift from flash to LEDS for space purposes! :)

I was having a look at those ones : http://www.cree.com/LED-Components-and-Modules/Products/XLamp/Arrays-NonDirectional/XLamp-CXA2530

General / Whats your common image processing procedure ?
« on: April 10, 2014, 03:10:31 PM »
Just a question to the community! Whats your common image processing workflow for Agisoft ?
Do you sharpen your images ?
Do you noise-filter them ?

Personally i bump up a little bit the sharpness and noise-filter them using Neatimage plugin for Photoshop, i usually bump up a little bit shadow information without introducing noise.

Face and Body Scanning / Worried with geometric distortions
« on: April 01, 2014, 10:02:32 PM »
Im worried with geometric distortions between two scans of the identical model, the differences are quite big... any possible reasons for this ?

Im using 35mm lenses.. and im not applying any geometric distortions corrections to my images nor cropping...

Thank you!

Face and Body Scanning / 35mm for head scans
« on: February 25, 2014, 02:49:02 PM »
Do you think that 35mm will introduce geometric distortions on head scans ? does photoscan correct the lens distortion successfully on this kind of focal distance ?

http://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B0050I7AGO/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1AT7YVPFBWXBL

I was thinking on changing my head scanning set up to 35mm to make it smaller...

Face and Body Scanning / Eye-Fi SDHC cards for shooting
« on: February 14, 2014, 08:03:12 PM »
Has anyone tried http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eye-Fi SDHC memory cards for shooting ? i've considered the option of using them, it would make everything "cleaner" since i wouldnt have to use 9128512 cables...

Do you think USB hubs are more reliable ? any recommendations ?

Thank you   :)

Face and Body Scanning / Advantages of using full frame?
« on: February 07, 2014, 12:49:41 PM »
Dear all,

Could anybody point me to any link, or has a personal experience on using full frame cameras for face scanning ?

- Is worth the advantage of price / quality ?
- Would it be a good idea to place full frame cameras on the front of the subject to acquire better quality on this area, and the 1.6x crop cameras on the sides ?

Thank you community!  :)

Face and Body Scanning / Facial Hair and Oily skins
« on: January 22, 2014, 04:31:41 PM »
I was wondering if these problems associated with facial hair are common to all of you scanning heads!
Im really not getting any points where facial hair is.  :(

- Are you guys using polarizing filters to minimize direct reflections of the flash hitting the skin by the way?
