General / How much does colour difference have an impact on PhotoScan ?

Hi everyone,
There is a duty for me with many photos and when i do the alignment process, PhotoScan aligns very well..
However I think depending on the colour difference with the each photo, PhotoScan can not create a good dense cloud. Some photos a bit reddish , another a bid blueish.. I checked the matches of some photos and it was reported as (example) 5 valid, 98 invalid.
How much can colour balance have an impact on process ?   BTW, Also is there any tricks to balance the colours in the photos? perhaps software? I tried playing on colour levels for each photos. it made some difference but not as good as they should be. valid value was increased with this try.

Hi ,
Sometimes i get very good allignment.. However it says  74 cameras used of 86 cameras.
In this case, is there any way to force the PhotoScan using all cameras ?  Why it don't use all cameras... :-/

Hi there,

What process do you use for hollowing the shell (wall thickness) ?
For example after using PhotoScan® it is necessary for making bust or other many prints.
The scanned data is very thin.
Any advice?

Hi All,

I could do with some help here,

As Alexey said before,
"  PhotoScan has mask-by-background
feature, that allows automasking for fixed cameras, providing that "empty" shots for every
camera are taken without the present of the object of interest. The background should be
kept unchanged during object shooting;  "

So is there any tutorial about this? I have 42 fixed cameras but having difficulties.
What are the steps for automasking ?

Also Shall I have stereo pairs?   what do you recommend for camera placement and zone overlap.

Camera Calibration / What does it mean?

Sorry just trying to understand, what is the lens calibration for?
I took 3 photos and made the test.  What the result says?
It doesn't explain clearly in the User Manual  if  it is good, bad ? 

There is my result,  what can you see?

General / differance in auto masking between..

Hi ,

I was wondering if there is big differance in auto masking between turn table and 360 degree setup.
Does anyone have experiance about it? It seems a bit poor auto masking in turn table setup.
what is the best way to get rid of background ?

Hi guys,
I've been fallowing this forum for a long time and I managed to register finally.
There was a problem with confirmation e-mail with "yahoo" mail. Had to get another e-mail address sth like gmail or from other email service provider. For admin's information.

So,I have read lot's of informations about your experiences. I do appreciate to you all about those wonderful topics. Thank you guys.

I would like to ask for your advice;
I can say, Canon 600D is one of the best camera to have it in the ring, as it provides sharp photos.
What do you think about Canon EOS 600D + 18-55mm Lens ?   Is it good for a begining?

I was planing to get 10-15 Canon 600D cameras.
How many cameras would you recommend for 360?

What is the best for snapping? DSLR Remote Pro Multi-Camera Breeze systems looks good for Canon 600D.
