Feature Requests / Area measurements in the Model view via Shapes
« on: June 22, 2018, 05:23:53 PM »
Hello,

i know that i can calculate areas via shapes in my DEM or orthophoto. But often, this is not enought. Today i had to calculate the wall- and roof-areas of a building (church) for a client.
The problem with the current method is, that every time i select unwanted polygons for erasing, the polygons behind are selected too. Then i have to rotate my model and deselect the polygons i want to keep in the model.
If it is not possible to implement the polygonal measurement feature for the Model view, it would be great to implement a selecting method, that only selects the polygons that can currently be seen and doesen't select all polygons behind.

Best regards
Thomas

Feature Requests / Possibillity to make the mesh "3D-printable"
« on: April 01, 2016, 06:18:38 PM »
Hello there,

i am looking for a function, to "generate" a volume under the boundaries of the mesh. But i'm not talking about an ordinary extrusion. The bottom of this generated volume should be a plane with a specified height (for example 350m over NN). With this, you would be able to easily print your generated meshes (in this case it is a terrain model).

Feature Requests / Shape Detection
« on: September 10, 2014, 08:53:41 PM »
Hello,

are there plans to implement a shape detection or an edge detection for the dense pointcloud?
So, it would be possible to export the detected shapes or edges (contour lines) to a CAD like Autodesk AutoCAD.
In the CAD you could do your measurements, planning, etc.
Another good reason for the implementation of such a feature is, that you can give those CAD-Drawings (DXF or DWG) to your customers, who often are not be able to handle 3D-Models.

Feature Requests / Decimate mesh by tolerance
« on: February 04, 2014, 09:49:51 PM »
Hello,

it would be greate, if I could decimate my model by tolerance, instead of telling Photoscan a final poly count.
In former times, I've used Geomagic. There, you have two options for decimating a mesh.
The first is to tell Geomagic a final poly count (like in Photoscan).
The second option is much better. You can tell Geomagic to decimate the mesh until the geometry begins to differ from a user defined tolerance.
