General / x + y Errors ok, heights to high
« on: September 16, 2015, 11:21:25 AM »
Hi
Not sure if anyone has any idea, 2 small projects, flown same day, 1 is 200m * 700m the other is 200m * 1.8Kms, all with accurate gcps, the difficult thing we had with this project was that it was a main road, and we had to keep away, so to get coverage we flew at 120m and only from 1 side of the road, no access on the other, the average errors are x = 2cm, y = 2cm, z = 1.2m, used gradual selection about 3 times, but doesnt seem to effect the height hardly at all, any ideas gratefully appreciated, ps we have carried our many commercial jobs, all successfully, this is the first time I have come across this

General / network rtk GCP heights are way out?
« on: August 20, 2015, 02:01:00 PM »
Have about 6 clusters, 1 I have a problem with, using network rtk ground control points, easting and northing error is within my limits, below 5cms, heights, however, are showing average error of 6m, biggest GCP error is 12m, am going to resurvey using features, but any ideas what could cause this, other that an actual correction error from the network, was a nice clear day when surveyed, any clues greatly appreciated

Hi
At a bit of a loss, I conducted an aerial survey about 2 months ago of an area of sand dunes, ( 13hectares) I have all these files to look back on, the initial align photo's produced a point cloud of 230,000 points, followed by a dense cloud of 33 million points.
This week I revisited the site to survey again, exactly the same process and same area, same camera and platform, but since the first survey, i have updated agisoft twice, the last just before this project. I am only creating 21000 points now when aligning photos and only 20million as a dense cloud, as far as I am aware all photoscan settings are the same. My main problem lies in geo referencing, as when I have optimised it after inputting all the GCP's the cloud does not leave me many points to remove  in gradual selectionin  order to create a more accurate model. Can anyone shed any light on this
thanks in advance
 :)
