General / Export Orhomosaic with vector layers on top
« on: September 04, 2020, 02:34:22 PM »

Is it possible to export a rendered orthomosaic with the vector layers on top?

I ask that because when I what to export SIDE FACADE ORTHO it is not possible to draw plans on other GIS applications and then export as image.

I am getting constant 5CM accuracy (xyz) with only running Align and using GCPs as check points only.
But, I was told that on Phantom 4 RTK I can get great results using significantly less GCPs than in "regular" drone.

When inserting the GCPs in to the solution, then hit Optimize (all the parameters checked F,K1,K2 etc...)

Nothing changes, or changes very little.

Maybe it's because the photos has high accuracy weight?

Whats the right way of doing this?

General / Issues with Phantom 4 RTK proccessing
« on: July 20, 2020, 10:29:38 PM »

I currently use phantom 4 rtk.
After importing all photos with all the XMP data, I convert the coordinates to Israel TM grid as in the Metashape database.
Then after aligning the photos, I import gcps (same coordinate system) and get really bad 9-12 meters deviations from the gcp location and the mark of the gcp in the photos.
I guess it's Geoid or SRS issue? There is no Israel Geoid on Agisoft's website.
Do you have a solution to that?

Objective - a classic Orthophoto.

I understand I could go through all the stages except mesh and texture - as these aren't requires for that...

But my main concern is the "Calibrate Colors" stage - will it benefit the final Orthophoto product even if no texture is generated?

General / Ram usage on Orthomosiac stage
« on: July 04, 2018, 08:54:41 PM »

I am about to process more than 50,000 photos of 51 mega-pixels for each photo.

What is the ram requirement for a single chunk orthomosiac job?

I read the PDF in the manual, but it does not mention what happens on the last stage (orthomosiac) regarding RAM usage.

And, I wish to know if any has changed on the last versions of Photoscan regarding RAM usage.

Thank you.

Feature Requests / Auto Seam line generator
« on: June 14, 2018, 11:42:39 AM »
I work constantly on orthos using your seam line polygon tool which was a huge step up when it came out as a feature in Photoscan.
Unfortunately, almost every building is cracked using this method, because seam-lines go through most of the structures, and that is a very time consuming manual process to perform.

I saw in 2 other software, that seam lines are generated without going on buildings.
like in this video:

I don't want to say the other software's name so it won't get publicity over photoscan, but Alexey if you want contact me on PM.

This feature will really improve Photoscan and will make it even more professional.

General / X Y Z Attitude in space is wrong after Align proccess
« on: April 12, 2017, 03:53:08 PM »

I try to Align 3 well-overlapping 50mp photos taken NADIR from a plane. Unfortunately, the Alignment is wrong in the spatial  axis, it seems like Photoscan "thinks" I was taking a photo of a wall and sideways...

What to do?

General / Seam lines - over the buildings
« on: April 09, 2017, 04:25:34 PM »

How does Photoscan "decide" where to put the seam lines?
From what I see, it put the seam lines over buildings. What makes it do that? Is there a parameter that can be changed that the seam line will go around the buildings?

Thank you.

General / GCP - No camera EXIF
« on: August 20, 2016, 11:09:38 PM »

The mission - Orthophoto + DEM

I am doing aerial survey from an airplane using a Canon 5ds R camera, NO GPS.
My pictures aren't geo-tagged.
The problem is - Photoscan won't generate DEM unless I get EXIF or camera locations.

I do have GCPs taken from a ground surveyor, about 12 points I would like to input to Agisoft so I can get a DEM.
Is there a way to perform the mission?

Hello Guys,

For all of you making huge orthos, I encountered a problem editing huge files.
I first convert to ECW, which is very light.

Then I load it on Photoshop to add sharpness and color, and have to slice it to many pieces (Globbal Mapper doesn't let you to add sharpness and more...)
Then I convert it again...
How can I just edit the ENTIRE ECW FILE at once?

Any software recommendations?

General / Very Weird Issue - After Batch Process - No Model :(
« on: December 27, 2015, 05:22:50 PM »
after setting up a normal orthophoto batch process, and letting it finish it - nothing! not even the alignment stage with the blue photo squares on the model view.

I saw it calculating, building dense cloud with all the numbers running. Says it's finished but no model, can't orthorectify.
It happend to me on a different project as well - and after running it again it worked - but I don't have the time to wait for the process to run twice, I am on a dead line :(

I am so afraid to start my 3,500 photo project now.

Please help.

Photoscan 1.2.0
I am getting a "Can't write image" and some of the times "Can't build pyramid" on a big project.
It is 3075 pictures took from an airplane vertically for Orthophoto.

Batch went fine, Aligned, Optimized, Dense point created, mesh and texture.
Problem occurs on the Ortho stage, one stage before export. without warning it stops and I get those messages.

Please help.

Intel XEON E5 1620 3.5GHZ

Aligned 7500 points max,
Dense point on lowest.
texture on 4500.
Photos stored on external usb 3.0 hdd

LOG is 26 mb so can't be uploaded here.
