General / geoid18
« on: March 11, 2020, 11:04:16 PM »
Hi all,
North American OPUS solutions are now being provided in Geoid18, and we would like to make our Agisoft products in Geoid18. Are there plans to distribute a tiff file? If not, how do we create one compatible with Photoscan?
Thanks, Chris

Hi,
I am having a problem with Metashape hanging or rendering so slowly it is unusable. Any manipulation in the model window (panning or rotating the sparse cloud, using F11 to go full screen) locks everything up. Similarly, shrinking the model window and restoring results in a white screen and a (Not Responding) message...the only thing that works is killing the program and restarting. Menu pull-downs are also slow, but eventually work. Actual processing seems very fast and crude benchmarks put it about 2-3 times faster than my local workstation. My connection to the EC2 is via Remote Desktop Connection and my connection (via government VPN) can be slow, but is currently 60 Mbps. Any advice would be welcomed. Is this the situation that (expensive) Teamviewer can help with?

Here is my setup:

Metashape 1.5.5 build 9097

AWS EC2 g3.8xlarge: Windows Server 2016 Datacenter 64 bit, Intel Xeon E5-2686 v4 @ 2.3 GHz, 244 GB, 1 Microsoft Display Adapter, 2 NVIDIA Tesla M60. The monitor is listed as a generic PnP monitor...not sure if that is relevant...display settings cannot be changed from a remote session.

Currently working with a project with ~3500 images and sparse cloud that started around 60M points, but has been edited to about 13M.

Thanks! Chris

I am working with the script of Mike James that uses a randomization process to generate new sparse point clouds. Sometimes it generates points that lie outside the region, and these points are not exported.

Is there a way to ensure all points are exported, ignoring the region?

Alternatively, is there a way to set the region to include all points?

Thanks!

Bug Reports / PS 1.3.0 build 3772 (64 bit) hangs in Gradual Selection
« on: March 19, 2017, 07:18:01 PM »
When I do Edit/Gradual Selection, and try to switch criterion, PS sometimes hangs. I have had to kill the program twice with exactly the same number of points. (~5 million) while I am trying to pull down the menu to switch from the default criterion (Reprojection error) to, Projection accuracy.

This feature is now much slower than it used to be, and keeps recalculating before the user is done selecting. (For example, when typing values into the dialog box, it will start recalculating as each digit is entered, including zero or blank entries).

Thanks, Chris

General / Altitude from EXIF in DJI Phantom 3 is negative
« on: January 23, 2017, 11:43:44 PM »
The EXIF altidudes in the images (DJI Phantom 3 FC300X camera) have positive values; the values imported into Photoscan (Pro Windows 1.2.6 build 2843, 64 bit) are negative. Same numbers, but with a minus sign.

This is annoying, but the workaround is simple: export the camera locations, edit to remove the minus signs, and re-import...or use a script to scan the EXIF info in the images and generate the file to import, which may be preferable, because as others have pointed out, the actual values are off by some offset  that could be removed in the same script.

Camera info after loading photos in PhotoScan:
