General / Build orthomosaic from textured model in 2.2.0 only with cameras?

The option 'Build orthomosaic from textured model' is only possible when cameras are still available, right? version 2.2.0.
I've imported OBJ and texture, but option to Build orthomosaic from textured model is unavailable.

General / scale bar size keeps changing from my input

Hi,
I tell metashape the distance between two targets on a scale bar is 100 mm. I change both markers to control points by enabling the markers and the scale bar in the reference pane/source tab.  Still metashape tells me it's got distance errors.   How can I fix this? I thought creating control points would do this.

General / measured values of quality

I've got a question about quality control. 
When using my photographs in metashape the mesh usually looks good. But that is not enough for me.
When using it for conservation documentation and scientific imaging it needs to provide known measured values.
Is there a way to objectively measure the quality of the point cloud and mesh?

General / combine model with new photo?

Is it possible to combine an existing .obj with a new photo of the same object?
I import a model .obj and I import high res photo for more detail. I add markers on the model and markers on the photo on same location with same name. But then......it ends? Anyone can give me insight on why not or is it possible? I would think that it is possible to copy the location of existing model to location of new markers on photo.

General / creating new mesh from dense cloud without overwriting

I don't know what I'm doing wrong....I want to create a second mesh (or third)  with same settings from my dense cloud. Usually I get a new mesh, but now it's overwriting the first mesh. anybody?

General / confused: from sparse cloud to dense cloud

So, I'm confused
I went from sparse cloud to dense cloud. In sparse cloud I completely deleted a part of the scanned object, but in dense cloud it's back! So where does it come from? I totally deleted those tiepoints. I thougt that dense cloud is generated from sparse cloud. Can anyone enlighten me?

General / purpose of texture count

maybe a silly question, but what is the purpose of the texture count? I know it's a memory thing, so if your computer can't render 16384 you render 4x 8192, but when I export my obj with texture, I can't use a diffuse map consisting of 4 jpgs, as far as I know. So...why? some hidden posibilities?

General / Haze on colorcharts and rulers

I've taken 3 series of photographs of this object. Each time there was 1 colorchart included. It's on a turntable with the ruler around the object. What I don't understand is why the rulers and the colorcharts aren't clear. There is some kind of haze on top of them.  I thought it might be the white from the turntable projected onto the mesh.  After I noticed this I generated masks in each photograph and did it all over again, but without any luck. Can anyone tell me please what is going on? see attachments.

General / resetting predefined views

after reorienting the view, objects and the grid to xz I've got my Y axis the way I want it.... to the top. But the predefined views are wrong now. 7 should show topview, 1 front. etc.
is there a way to set these right so I can use them the way i'm used to?

General / even though mesh is aligned, it's not in the same place in metashape

I've aligned mesh from a light scanner with the mesh from metashape in meshlab and they are perfectly aligned. In metashape the mesh from scanner is about half the object-size lower than the imported mesh from metashape. I want to use it in the same location so I can use the textures from metashape. I am confused, tried moving axis etc. but no luck. Can anyone explain to me what is happening? Thank you.

General / UV map only shows part of mapping

Hi,
when I generate texture and look at the exported texture it only shows part of the map. The 3D model is a cup and looks fine with texture so that's not the problem. On the jpg I can only see part of the outside and smaller part of the inside. So...where can I find the rest? It must be somewhere, cause it's showing on the 3D model. anyone knows what's going on?

General / re-linking photos after moving folder

Hi,
is there a way to re-link the original photos again after I've moved the folder with the photographes to a different location? can I change the path in any way so Photoscan can find them again?
